If you've still got itchy feet, why not venture out and see more of the Hokkaido region? Don't even think of heading home without checking out some of the region's amazing coastal plains. Traditional villages are also worth a peek. If the sun is shining (or even if it's not), have a crack at some popular local activities like snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing.

It's well known that Aussies just love to have a good time, so consider hanging round a little longer and going to the Utonai-ko Sanctuary and the Tomakomai Golf Resort 72 in Tomakomai, 30 kilometres to the west of Mukawa-cho. While in Washibetsu, be sure to visit River Oyunuma Natural Footbath and Orofure Pass.

Sitting 90 kilometres from Mukawa-cho, Toyako has a wide range of facilities, shops and sweet lodging spots, like The Windsor Hotel TOYA and Hotel Cocoa. Lake Toyako and the Toyako Forest Museum are a handful of the tourist attractions in and around Toyako.
