Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte is one of the most well-known cities in Sri Lanka, and it's easily accessible from Moratuwa. You'll find it approximately 13 kilometres to the north.

Make sure you bring a picnic blanket for a leisurely bite by the water at Negombo Beach or Unawatuna Beach.

The peaceful sounds of nature are waiting for you at Beira Lake. It sits just 16 kilometres away, so you won't need to be stuck on the road all day. Muthurajawela Visitor Centre, 35 kilometres away, is one more popular choice.

If you're contemplating expanding your horizons, journey 3 kilometres northwest to Angulana. This is where you'll find Mount Lavinia Beach and Raux Brothers. We also suggest swinging by Piliyandala, 5 kilometres to the east, for the National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka and the Traditional Puppet Art Museum.

You may feel the urge to set up camp in Nugegoda for a little while. This destination is 10 kilometres away and close to the Isipathanaramaya Buddhist Temple, Diyatha Uyana and the Sri Lanka Airforce Museum. Other nearby sights are the Asokaramaya Buddhist Temple and Colombo Divers.

To truly experience a place is to taste the local food and drink, so prepare to chew, chomp, sip and slurp your way through Sri Lanka. The only thing you need to take with you is a good appetite!
