The only reason I gave four stars for area around the hotel was because of the road construction right outside. This is no fault of the hotel and the staff made out stay amazing despite the inconvenience. The valet and hospitality staff are superb. We also stayed on a weekend so the construction noise didn’t start until the morning we checked out!
Hotel was excellent just like last time. Was a little unusual with several renovations underway inside and also street construction but overall still very good. Had issues getting hot water in both the sink and the shower, it took forever. Just an inconvenience. Again wonderful stay overall.
Lovely hotel in old Montreal walkable to all restaurants, shops, and metro. Attentive and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again when back in Montreal.
Heavy duty construction all around immediate area of hotel and surrounding 3 block area. Very Narrow sidewalk area left to walk on. Monday to Friday is when work crews there. Almost booked 4 days there but had to change my plans to 3. Thank God I did. I would have been so angry. Not told by email or text or website about any of this noisy construction going on during weekdaysand it will be for quite a while. No fault of hotel or staff but had a Led foot neighbour above us both days and party goers till wee hours of the morning second night.
Everyone from the front desk people to the porters to the valets went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.
There was an electrical outage on first night (no fault of the hotel) due to construction work in the street. The managers Katrina and Celine got us up to one of their sister hotels with an upgrade to a suite for night one. They handled baggage and car transport for us. We came back for night two and were welcomed warmly. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are divine. Wished we could have stayed longer. Will certainly be back sooner than later. One of our favorite hotels.
Such an amazing place to stay, the place is beautiful, clean, the rooms are amazing, charming, with the soul of the place, the people working there are so gentle and nice, all of them, we will definitaly go back there soon
My husband and myself spent 4 nights (March 12-16) at Hotel Nelligan. We chose this hotel for its excellent location and charm. Upon arrival we were disappointed to see that construction was happening both in front of the hotel and inside the hotel. We asked for a quieter room, which a staff member assured us that it was.
We had a King room (atrium). The room itself was clean, and appeared to be newly renovated. Unfortunately the balcony doors would not open, although we noticed other rooms had opened theirs. The room came with one chair, we called down and they were more than happy to bring us a second chair. Our first two mornings we were woken up at 7:15am with the noise of power tools, construction happening within the hotel. We spoke to the front desk after the second morning, they apologized and offered us breakfast on the house for our remaining 2 mornings and assured us that the manager would reach out to us to follow up. We are home, and hope to hear from her soon. Overall, staff are professional and attentive and breakfast was delicious. We felt that we missed out on the charm of the hotel due to construction.

The room was very clean, check in was efficient, staff was respectful and professional. This hotel is a gem.
This is normally a very good hotel. I have stayed there multiple times. They are renovating the property and have taken their eye off the ball a bit. In addition, the street outside the hotel is being torn up.

Great location & parking valet very helpful. We were traveling with another couple and ate at the hotel steakhouse restaurant our first night which was excellent. Our King Atrium view room was disappointing - small, furniture worn. Our friend's King City view room was large & beautiful with exposed brick and updated furniture.
Hotel lobby was temporary and under construction - it changed locations between the time we left for dinner and returned for the evening. Learned about it when we couldn't open the same entrance door we had been using the first few days of our stay.
