Disclaimer: I stayed at the hotel inspite of its name branding, for the location, pool area, and price, especially the price. Most of the guests are international from Latin America, South America, and of course a large contingency from Russia. Considering current events, its a very international mix of guests. Americans are definitely in the minority.
A very good 4 star resort. Centrally located, right on the beach with 2 pool areas, and a well staffed beach section. The room was spacious, with a kitchenette, roomy bathroom, and very nice balcony. AC works well, good water pressure and hot water. The furnishings are a bit dates and inexpensive, perhaps Ikea? However, housekeeping keeps the rooms and public spaces immaculate. I especially appreciated the vintage (faux) cayman skin wallpaper! The staff are amazing! Very friendly and professional. All my interactions were positive. My rating of a 4 star is based on the dated furnishings, the thread bare towels and bed linen, slow elevators with many floor buttons no longer illuminated. It made each elevator ride an adventure. With capital investment and an upgrade it could be 5 stars. You can't beat the location. And no, Donald and Melania were nowhere in sight.
One question I did ask the staff is if they were treated well. All said they were. They are all hard workers and made my stay enjoyable.
