An ideal location, close to the action without feeling like it is on top of you. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I do feel like my room suffered a bit from damp (there was a slight smell in the air) but I know this is incredibly common in a location like South Beach. As the room was kept very clean, it wouldn't put me off staying again. One of the best Miami experiences on a slight budget so I would recommend.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY HERE! My boyfriend and I arrived around 11p on Thursday and found that both the front gate and front door were unlocked, meaning anyone could walk inside from the street. This felt very unsafe. When I entered the unit, there was a strong mold/mildew smell that immediately caused a headache. I tried to open a window for air, but there was no screen and it was at street level, so it did not feel safe. When I checked the bed, there were multiple hairs on the sheets (short, long, and dark), and the bedding did not smell clean. I called the hotel line and reached a “virtual assistant” who was unhelpful and said someone would get back to me. I called a second time after not hearing from anyone, and he said the night worker was on their way. As the mold smell worsened, we found visible mold near the mini-split, and behind a wall painting was extensive black mold. Due to the unsafe, unsanitary conditions and lack of support, we left immediately and booked another hotel. It is now Saturday, and I have still not been contacted by management. Disappointing experience.

The smell of bleach or some kind of cleaning material mentioned in other comments is absolutely real and very off putting. The photos are deceiving and they don’t depict the true picture of the current state of the rooms or the property. Having said that, if you are looking to stay for a night or two and are looking for free parking and proximity to ocean drive, this could be your pick.

It was neat and clean, the decor was awesome, i love the modern style. The only issue was the bathroom was very small for a larger body, but we made it work. Super comfy bed, a fantastic place to sleep thats not far from Port of Miami.

Our stay at this hotel was unsafe and unhealthy. The room had no real ventilation, and the windows were completely sealed, causing extremely high humidity. Black mold was clearly visible on the walls, which is dangerous for anyone with respiratory sensitivities. This violates basic health and safety standards outlined by EPA and OSHA, as well as Florida Public Lodging requirements (Florida Statutes § 509), which mandate safe and sanitary living conditions. In addition, the hotel sprayed a strong chemical air freshener in the hallways and rooms, making it difficult to breathe and causing headaches. Combined with the humidity and mold, the environment felt truly unhealthy. We reported the issue to the front desk twice. Both times we were told someone would come to inspect and resolve the problem, but no one ever showed up. The hotel later offered to move us to another room, but the other rooms had the exact same issues: sealed windows, no ventilation, high humidity, and visible mold. This shows that the problem is not limited to one room, but is systemic throughout the property. The lack of proper response and the overall condition of the rooms make this hotel one of the most unsafe places we have stayed in. I do not recommend it to anyone, especially guests with allergies, asthma, or any respiratory issues.

The room, as always, was very clean. Staff were lovely, especially Medhi and James Lee. The hotel is basic but we had everything in there that we needed..... all cutlery, etc. The hotel's little kitchinette had a toaster, little cooker, microwave, knives, forks, spoons. If we needed anything extra, it was provided on the same day. I am always happy to stay at Baybreeze.

Loved the location, the possibility to have a mini kitchen and mostly the access to complimentary parking!! Unfortunately we had the last room at the end of the building and we had a horrifying non stop noise coming from some tube, drain or some area around the room that after the second night we all woke up with headache and tired because it was hard to sleep and even with the ac on the noise could still be perceived so it was the only down fall for our stay. Everything else was 10/10

When looking for a place to stay, the most important thing is cleanliness—because at the end of the day, you need to feel safe where you’ll be sleeping, showering, and using things as you would at home. Everything else is secondary. We booked Baybreeze Apartments by Lowkl after reading a review saying it was “super clean” (plus it had good ratings). When we arrived, both rooms we booked looked fine (not like the pictures, but decent), but it seemed the beds weren’t changed after the previous guests. We found hair on the blankets, stains on the sheets, hair in the shower, and worst of all, dry saliva on a pillow. We didn’t notice right away because we dropped our luggage and went out to eat. Later, when setting up the bed for our toddler, we found everything. Since there’s no receptionist after 6pm, we had no one to contact, so we had to go out to buy blankets and disinfectant to get through the night. The next day I reported it, and staff told me they don’t clean rooms during guest stays but would send someone to change the blankets—which they did, and nothing more. I even overheard a cleaner say, “people must be sneaking in,” which made me worry about safety. Nights were noisy from the room above, the mini fridge rattled loudly (I recorded it), and the whole building smelled unpleasant. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this was our experience. Apart from location, everything else was disappointing. We will not return to Baybreeze or any “by Lowkl” property.
