Property is so outdated, needs a lot of Maintenace. It is very close to next door properties. One side they were renovating, working till hours of morning. other side they had plenty of dogs, which at times they would not stop barking, also stunk as they did not clean their pens often. Also room was a bit small, shelves were dusty, shower was moldy and smelt of drainage. Breakfast was not much, had to pay extra for bacon. Only had 1 juice variety, water, tea and coffee. Danishes were not fresh. They had bread for toast and about 4 different dishes such as rice, soup etc. There was hardly anyone in the pool bar, at one stage a guest had to get out of the pool and go ring for service. they did not have any life guards. Would not recommend this hotel if you have young children. This place is ok if you travelling on a budget.

Review: Sun Island Hotel & Spa, Legian I recently stayed at the Sun Island Hotel & Spa in Legian. Overall, the hotel was generally clean and the staff were reasonably friendly. However, there were a few disappointments during my stay. The TV in the room wasn’t working, which was a letdown, and the pool area appeared a bit rundown and in need of maintenance and updating. While the location is convenient and the rooms were tidy, the amenities could use some attention to bring the property up to its full potential.

It was dirty, bathroom was dirty, staff uniforms dirty, pool area falling apart, the room sold to us didn’t match their webpage. Supposed to be a deluxe king; there wasn’t enough room to swing a cat. No swim-up bar, no bar in general, had to pay for ice! For what we paid we could have stayed at the Legian Beach Resort. If been to Bali about 20 times over many years; this was probably our most disappointing stay in terms of cost v delivery. Overall rating - bloody terrible. Do not stay here.

The property was convenient to some places. Rooftop pool had cracked tiles which could cut a person. Drain inside pool didn’t have a cover. If i was not looking down, i would have hurt myself. Decking was uneven with gaps between wooden slabs. Pool bar was never open. Clearly not your idea of rooftop swim up pool bars. Bar on street level only serves Bintangs. We were told hotel does not serve alcohol, which was very disappointing. Breakfast the same thing everyday, no variety like cornflakes, muesli and yogurt. Rooms were clean. Fridge was off when we checked in after midnight. You would have thought they would switched it on knowing that they had guests coming that day. The bathroom is so small 2 adults can't fit in there at the same time. Needless to say, i will not be staying at this hotel again. The staff were really nice though.

The incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming staff are a credit to the hotel. However, our room was very noisy due to it sounding as though the water system was constantly refilling and because we are just off a busy main road - we could hear karaoke late into the night and could hear the noise from the hotel restaurant during breakfast hours. The rooms are not sound proofed, so noisy guests in the corridor can be heard very easily. Bits of unaligned wallpaper and filler in the shower door hinge that hasn't been concealed made the room feel less than 4 star. Breakfast gave authentic Indonesian options but fairly limited for vegans. The restaurant is open and airy, beautiful for dining. The hotel is very close walking distance to 3 beaches and conveniently located to reach other areas of Bali by car.

Our big complaint was thst when we poened thr door for fresh air the room became wet from condensation....which didnt go away. The floor became slippery and walls wet. So we had to close the door and put aircon back on then eventually it dried.

Property looks tired and we was fined for getting a mark on the bed sheet. So be aware they will charge you! Location was amazing close to everything all in all ok but definitely not 4*
