There really isnt a beach. There are a bunch of rocks with some water in front. The water contains bull sharks, ehich is no surprise because a few feet away, they offer a shark feeding experience.

The hotel has the design of a1950s motel with the room doors opening on an external walkway, and the windows face the walkway as well, meaning NO privacy from a person walking by the room of the blinds are not closed completely - so you cannot really sleep with the blinds open. The doors open outward which gives a feeling of vulnerability because when you open the door you effectively lose control of it to anyone who might be outside. Even worse, the door locks are irrelevant. I could open the door of my room with my comb. A very insecure hotel.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. My only complaint would be the keys to the rooms suck. It takes a good 5 minutes to get in your room. Everyone had the same issue.

The room was so tiny ..couldnt use the bathroom plus I am handicap with no mat for grip or any railing..The receptionist told me that he will have to charge an additional $65 for a handicap room. That is a violation onl me as there is no charge by US law for a handicap room. Plus my daughter and myself have a lot of bites all over our skin with bed bugs.The AC wasnt working and made a lot of noise all night. The bed was squeaking when lie down on it constantly. This was a nightmare . We felt we got a bad deal from EXPEDIA..

This is one of the best old school Key West places to stay everything about. It was so cool! The surroundings are cool. The restaurant attached to it is so cool. Must stay here

I am referring to this resort as a motel because the doors are exterior. The motel advertised on Expedia that there was shuttle service - there was none. They had scooters available to rent onsite but the hourly rate was expensive. We rented down the street for 24 hours for less than the price of two hours there. The water in the shower left black grit on the shower floor. It’s not an updated motel. The ice machine was not for human consumption. The breakfast was basic no frills. The beds were ok but you could feel the springs, not horrible and we did get sleep (depends on what you’re used to, they weren’t like sleeping on a cushiony mattress). The shark feeding was on time and that was a unique experience being able to do that. There are a few big turtles and a couple of parrots on site which added to the uniqueness. The “beach” area had lounge chairs and colorful hammocks (not exactly a typical beach with sand meeting the water and waves. There was sand and water and a breaker wall of rocks between them). Not a deal breaker but also not a typical beach. The worst part was we booked through Expedia based on their description including the shuttle. We couldn’t back out of the stay because the motel was going to charge us for the first night anyway and then we would have to get that back from Expedia, which happens when you book through a third party.

This place was below my expectations. Room and shower was small as well. The AC unit was dated and kept a lot of noise. The doors were not very secured. It was advertised as having a private beach but when. We got there it was rocky and not swimable. Also, we were extra charged for resort fee which was not mentioned at the time of booking. We arrived around 2 pm and was charged extra for “early check-in”. Will definitely not be staying there again…

We enjoyed our stay at Ibis Bay Beach Resort! The room was clean and the location right over the pool area was great! From staff to breakfast, everything was wonderful! We will stay again! We also enjoyed seeing the parrots and turtles! My one suggestion is that pellets should be added to parrots diet and some new toys! As an owner of a blue and gold, I know the intelligence of these birds and they need stimulation, especially since they’re in cages all the time!
