Stayed here during the winter so was a little less crowded then during the summer. But had a blast. Ate at the hotel restaurant which was fine, and did karaoke at the hotel bar which was phenomenal! Great location, plenty if stuff around to keep occupied.

The lobby to the front desk was on the second floor and there were no signs how to get there, it was very confusing! I also paid more for an ocean view, but when i got to my room i could barely see the ocean because there was a large cement terrace blocking my view.

The food from LandShark Lookout and LandShark Grille is terrible. We have stayed at this location 3 times for its proximity to Mayo Clinic. It tastes like everything is frozen and nothing tastes fresh. In fact we had to send back the shrimp beach bread because of the smell of the shrimp. I ate one bite before I smelled it and was violently nauseous and vomiting the next day. Do not book a direct ocean view. The balcony is barely standing room only and you can see directly into other people’s rooms and they can see into yours. I will say that the rooms are decorated nicely and pretty clean. We did have a piece of floor missing and some rust in the bathroom. The best food is at Joes Merchants coffee and provisions. All the food we ordered there was really good and so was the coffee however I didn’t expect to have to eat from the gift shop with a restaurant on site. There were great front desk employees and some that were very rude. The proximity to the beach is amazing. The valet staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all it seems like a much older hotel that has upgraded decorating. The layout is less than desirable as elevator access is somewhat far from the direct ocean fron room that we had.

As an older woman travelling alone (Mayo cancer patient), I love the fact that one has to have a reservation to go to hotel floors - makes me feel much safer Also, the valet parking is perfect and the staff at JAX Beach is terrific - especially Cole, who is kind, efficient and thinks of the "little things" that made my travels to Mayo from Margaritaville easier and more comfortable Please recognize Cole for his personal skills with guests and also his supervision of an excellent staff I will continue to stay at Margaritaville for my upcoming treatments and procedures.
