The property and pools were beautiful, but it all went down hill when we entered our room. Musty, moldy smell and old bathroom. We opened the patio door for fresh air only to get bombarded with pot smoke. TV did not work and needed to be reprogrammed. We asked for more coffee and never received it. Not at all what we expected. The pictures online are not a true reflection.

I stayed for one night with my two teenage kids amd wanted some peace. We had originally booked the weekend prior but the hotel would not change our check in date. We were told upon check in that the hotel felt badly about the rigidity surrounding the booking and would upgrade us for free. The room we were placed in was worn and had a faint unpleasant odor. We went out for dinner and came back to crash in our room as we were not checked in until well after the stated 4pm check in availability. We woke in the early AM to a flooding toilet overflowing with feces to the point where it had risen

Love the property and everything is perfect except they need more lighting in the room and pillows need to be softer. They had also advertised activities for Labor Day but were not provided and big game of UM and Notredame but channel not accesible in bar area… they should have been prepared for this game. We do love the resort and will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay Amara Cay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful pool and grounds. Rooms look cosmetically updated, but hallways must be next on the list. We got stuck with a very squeaky bed and an AC unit that sounds like a plane taking off when it starts and while it runs. However, the great outweighted the small inconveniences.
