Epping is a destination that has loads of cool stories to tell. If you feel like your life's been a bit humdrum lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

The nation's capital, Canberra, is situated roughly 450 kilometres to the northeast of Epping.

Essendon Fields, only 14 kilometres to the southwest, is known for the University of Melbourne and the Melbourne Zoo. You'll regret it if you miss them.

Is there anything more soothing than enjoying a cool breeze beside the water? Make your way to Brighton Beach or St. Kilda Beach for a sublime day out.

Travel beyond the confines of Epping and be prepared to experience some picturesque natural sights. Just 40 kilometres away, Dandenong Ranges National Park is a fabulous spot to recharge your batteries. We also recommend Sherbrooke Forest, 40 kilometres away from Epping.

Take some time to walk around the lovely landscape of Martin Reserve. Swinging by Broadmeadows Park is also sure to be good for your mind and body.

Here you can watch the Carlton Football Club, the Essendon Football Club or the North Melbourne Football Club compete on their home ground. If you're not much of a sports fan, book some tickets to a live concert instead.

If your trip coincides with a few good centimetres of snow, you'll see many local powder fiends packing up their cars and making their way to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort.

Take the opportunity to go to other nearby attractions, such as the Growling Frog Golf Course and Funfields. These are located 8 kilometres northeast in Mernda. Not ready to head back to your hotel just yet? The Yarrambat Park Golf Course and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology - Bundoora are in Yarrambat, 11 kilometres to the east of Epping.
