We ran the hot water in the tub for 15 minutes straight and the temperature never got above lukewarm. There was hot water in the sink. The walls between rooms do nothing to muffle sounds from other rooms. People talking loudly next door kept us awake from 2:30-5 AM. (And yes, we did ask them to keep it down.)

This was our 3rd time at John Carver. Reception was excellent. The location is awesome, under 10 minute walk to the waterfront, and shopping, dining, breweries and entertainment. Our room was clean and quiet. But walking down the corridor about 10:30 at night, some rooms with kids were very loud for that time of night and I was thankful we weren’t adjacent to them. The inn has an indoor pool, so there was a very strong smell of chlorine in the public areas, but not our room. Nice recessed lighting in the room, mini frig and a keurig. Plus CJs restaurant is accessible via an indoor hall from the hotel. Bed comfy enough, good water pressure in shower. HVAC system good as well.

Staff was extremely rude!! They dont offer parking so i had to sit in my car for 2 hours trying to fond a spot after we had already checked in. We ended up checking out early. Horrible experience.

Absolutely terrible, the day of they called to tell me their pool (the only reason we went) was closed for maibtance. They did nothing to accommodate us or even discount the room. They didn’t more the night or comp us for anything. Absolutely horrible

4th visit, 1st Disappointment

My daughter and I went for a few nights during Feb break to enjoy the indoor pool and slide and were super bummed to find the pool to be uncomfortably cold. She toughed it out for a little bit but even the pool room was unbearably cold to hang out in. This was the first time it's been like this and I'm hoping it will get fixed but I won't risk it again. On the good side, the room was nice and warm and the beds were super comfortable. We ate at the restaurant for every meal and really enjoyed the food and staff there. The arcade was good too since we had plenty of time on our hands with no pool.

We had a great stay it was perfect for the kids and the bar made it perfect for us Adults. My family had a wonderful time. It was very clean and the front desk lady from Jamaica was very nice and easy to work with. We will be back.

Inaccessible handicap parking door entranceway/locked door to entrance. Parking lot with multiple pot holes. Hot tub dirty with no resolution from staff after multiple complaints/4 day stay. Limited dining availability with long wait times for service and preparation of meals. Exercise room being used as dressing room for people using the pool with no resolution and supervision after multiple complaints. Heating unit very noisy trying to maintain room temperature thru out the night. Will not stay there again.

Of course we come during off-season so a lot of the businesses were closed by the water but there were still a lot of places to eat and we were able to go to the arcade. The hotel itself-the amenities were alittle disappointing. The pool room was freezing! The hot tub was lukewarm. Apparently it’s been like that for a week per staff. We did not get to enjoy that amenity. another amenity that we didn’t get to enjoy one night was bar and Grill. There was a rent out so they couldn’t service us. There was not a notice that we wouldn’t be able to get food that night from there. However, the next morning breakfast is good. The beds seemed small. I don’t think they were queen beds maybe full beds, and there were crumbs under the blanket on one of the beds. Free Internet was good and the little arcade in the hotel was good.

Place has gone downhill

Water heater was broken. According to one staff it’s been broken for weeks… really bad management to allow this issue to be going on for multiple weeks especially over February vacation. The Pool and “hot tub” were freezing…. Staff not accommodating… place has really gone downhill under new management. They refused to honor a gift card for the hotel because it was issued by prior owner although they are liable for it. They didn’t even try to offer anything or make concessions. Have state looking into
