Great location, nice rooms, but no access to windows or fresh air once in the room. AC almost impossible to control. Even turned off AC for 2 days, the room was still very cold. AT checking in, I was told the tourist tax is AED 20 per night, contradicting Expedia's confirmation. Reason being, the tax is based on number of stars and Avani is a 5* hotel. Not convinced about this but nevertheless, not worth revisiting for the reasons provided.

Staff were very friendly. Extremely clean. Hotel bar has strange hours. Beer is 50 dirhams which is expensive considering the area. They smoke in the restaurant and bar. Room was spacious. Housekeeping was phenomenal. Metro nearby and lots of grocery stores and some good restaurants.
