Book Claridge hotels

The hotel overall was in poor condition. Rooms are not cleaned daily and my room had stains on the mattress cover and a layer of rust/dust/grime covering most surfaces. Other guests were loud, inconsiderate, and sketchy overall. There is also literally nothing around the hotel so if you’re in town without a car, you will not have access to amenities. Pros are that the room size was good for the cost.

It’s a nice hotel. Power outage hit shortly after we checked in and lasted more than 24 hours (so no lights — except emergency lights, no heat, hot water, elevators, breakfast…) — not something they could control, but staff didn’t seem to know anything about what to do in these circumstances. They shrugged a lot. Said they could comp parking charges. While guests struggled to open and close sliding electric doors, staff sat in chairs in the lobby and watched. Unclear whether any refund credits would be issued to the charges we paid through Expedia. Under better circumstances, a nice hotel.

The room was spacious and hand-me-down chic. Loved the large bathtub and the huge windows (though didn't love the view of an ugly rooftop). The contactless experience went well. The neighborhood is full of great places to eat, including Hey, Babe right downstairs. The mattress is pretty firm, so if you like a cushiony mattress as I do, you might not be as comfortable, but it's probably fine for most people. Great place to stay. I definitely recommend the hotel overall. One thing that made the stay a little less awesome -- and I'm really hoping that it was just an anomaly for our room-- was the electrical wiring, or all things. The bright overhead lights for the entryway, bed area, and sitting area were all on one switch... AND this switch had to be on for the bathroom lights to turn on! (We tried every switch every which way, and nope, no bathroom light without bright overhead lights.) This meant that at night, you have a choice of flooding the whole unit with light OR trying to navigate and use a windowless, unfamiliar bathroom in pitch darkness.

The room was spotless and the front desk staff was very helpful.

Hotel was dirty, mold in the shower. Fire alarm was pulled at 2:00am. Trash around the property. Bad marijuana smell all the time. Long line at check in and owner of establishment didn’t even acknowledge guests or help with ridiculous long line. Never stay here again or even recommend to my most hated enemy.

Everything was nice. Room temp was perfect. A nice bar area.
