Beautiful hotel with the best location in Boston. Check-in took a long time due to them not having my reservation entered into the system and front desk staff were a little laissez-faire with their attitude. Rooms were small, but comfortable.

This hotel was stunning. Beautiful and ornate decor. Staff was friendly. Close distance to a lot of walkable places. We did have to wait for an elevator for awhile every time we had to use one. The room was super small. Smallest room I’ve ever been in actually. We couldn’t even open our suitcase all the wall.

The location is perfect - right in the middle of downtown and close to everything. Room was nice and clean and the staff was friendly and so attentive. Beautiful architecture! The bathroom in the standard queen is a bit small - the shower is a nice size, but a tall person will have trouble sitting on the toilet!!

Love this classic old-school hotel with modern amenities. Service was impeccable all around. Shout out to Matt in the Last Hurrah for going above and beyond to accommodate. The only negative to our stay was due to the fact that we were on the 12th floor, the sounds of a DJ playing music in the ballroom 2 floors above was annoying. If you stay there on a Fri or Sat night and you want to go to sleep before midnight, try to avoid the upper floors if you can.

Everything was clean and team were extremely welcoming. Great places nearby too. Only negative was the size and inconvenience of the rooms. To get to mine I had to go upstairs with my suitcase and the room was super tiny with a window facing a brick wall. It’s a very historic hotel so I guess that could’ve been expected.

This is no longer the grand old hotel and is just an old place. When I arrived, they told me they were downgrading my room. I have been traveling for 50 years and have sometimes been upgraded, I didn't know downgrading was an actual thing. It went worse from there. Also, for a famous and large hotel it is shocking that there was no restaurant/bar open before 5pm. At lunch time we had to leave to go elsewhere, terrible operation.
