We stayed in a Swiss Style Lodge for 2 nights in April. The lodge and surrounding grounds were well maintained and have a nice aspect - however the carpets and soft furnishings in the lodge were filthy. This really let the property down and our experience of staying here. This is something that is cheap and easy to rectify, and needs to be sorted by the management team ASAP to encourage guests to stay again. We appreciated being able to use the gym and swimming pool in the main hotel. There was some miscommunication from the receptionist over the appropriate time our children could use the swimming pool. There are swimming lessons in the pool during the weekdays which restricts access by guests to the pool, as the lanes are cordoned off. This makes the pool a bit crowded but nevertheless, our children enjoyed using the pool.

Excellent stay, easy free parking, clean modern rooms, comfy bed, excellent friendly staff

Rooms were clean and very large. The hotels communal areas are grand and beautifully decorated but the corridors and rooms could do with refurbishment. The car park is a joke. Very expensive and not at all managed by the hotel depsite them owning and charging for it. People were parking over 2 bays and the hotels wouldnt do anything about it even though they had every guests number plate on check in. This created a bit if a bunfight for parking spaces and not the relaxing start to the trip we would like. The view was stunning and the drinks were reasonably priced. Silly things like not having any mayonaise let them down. Overall though we had a wonderful stay and i think the hotel is good value for what we paid.

I had a really excellent experience staying here. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was large and clean, the price was very reasonable. Breakfast was good - the scrambled eggs were amazing, but the sausages could have been better (though I've had far worse). The lounge area is very good, spacious and comfortable - perfect for a casual meeting.

The hotel is clean. The reception staff are accommodating however i do feel ripped off. I stay in hotels for a decent nights sleep, and that was not achievable. The mattress was uncomfortable, there was a 2 inch gap under the door and the corridor lights didnt turn off all night. I payed an extra £14 for a breakfast that was not worth £5. The sausage had been cooked on such a high temperature the outside was cooked and the inside cold, the bacon had only just been introduced to a grill, the poached eggs flooded the plate with uncooked egg white, the coffee from a flask was warm at best. The breakfast staff had no idea who ordered what, so ended up walking round the room quizzing gets what they ordered, when a table number could have solved this, or a wooden spoon in the vase on the table with an order number. The hotel looks to also be used for staff family for breakfast. So all in all not a good stay and a complete waste of money.
