Fantastic room overlooking the sea. It really is with paying the extra for the sea view - it's incredible. We were upgraded to the 1-bed suite and it was huge. The bed was so comfortable we both had the best nights sleep of our holiday (the crashing waves also helps!). The food and service in the restaurant was outstanding. The only criticism is the lack of mosquito blinds in the rooms - there were a lot of them even in September.

This is a lovely property with very friendly and helpful staff. It has pet friendly units which is awesome (unfortunately just not with ocean views). This property does not have daily room cleaning, so you have to request clean towels, coffee, etc. The staff delivers your requests in one big bag for you. There is a broom in the room, however it would have been helpful if there was a small vacuum to use on the carpeting for pet hair cleanups. The property is about a 20 minute walk into the little town which has limited stores and restaurants. The property has one restaurant and one bar. Both serve the exact same menu. The bar has daily happy hour for beer and wine only with no food being on the happy hour menu. Prices on the menu are outrageous ($25 for a bowl of clam chowder) however, unless you either walk or drive to town, you have no other food options.

Once we had negotiated a move to an upstairs apartment we did have the advertised partial ocean view. Not sure a ground floor would have worked. That said it’s a stunning property with fabulous views from the restaurant which will be improved once the patio enclosure work is completed. Great ambience and directly on the pacific rim trail. Apartments are very large and thoughtful touches like including laundry detergents are welcome.

Black Rock Resort was amazing! What a wonderful treasure in Ucluelet you have created. The lobby, dining rooms, pool, and rooms were more than a 10. Thank you to all the professional staff, and the young man driving the golf cart when we had to park far away! The facility and the property are beautiful! Thank you for a few special days! This is an exceptional "Hotel". From the initial check-in and throughout the stay, all the staff are professional, welcoming and warm. The Resort is wonderful; peaceful, relaxing and the views from the rooms are exceptional with great vistas out to the Pacific ocean and coastline. Hot tub lovely and hot, nice views. Gym needed more equipment. Beautiful room, comfortable bed and soft sheets. Oven microwave quite new and not easy to work out settings. Told at reception room had laundry, room not ready so wasted time in town which we could have used on expensive laundry if we knew room didn’t have washing machine. Wouldn’t have been hard to have central laundry even if not putting one in all rooms. Was told they would call when ready but after 5 when we got there and told ohh room just ready now..
