Enjoy the excitement of seeing a live baseball match at PNC Field, home to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. After you've clapped and roared along with their frenzied fans, why not get a drink with a few of them somewhere close by? To get to the venue, head 20 kilometres east to Moosic.

Nothing beats jumping out of bed and finding some fresh powder at Blue Mountain Ski Area. Once you've ticked off all the runs there, pack up your snowboard and see what's on offer at Camelback Ski Area.

There's even more just down the road. Edwardsville, 7 kilometres to the south, is popular for The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and the F. M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts. Though, if the University of Scranton and the Marywood University are more appealing, head 20 kilometres northeast from Shavertown to Taylor.

Swiftwater, 55 kilometres to the southeast, may be right up your alley. You can use it as a port of call when stopping by the Mount Airy Casino, Camelback Mountain Resort and Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. If you're still not persuaded, other close by sights include the Golf at Pocono Manor and Camelback Mountain Adventures.
