Chill beach side hotel with very friendly staff

Pros: North of the heart of the city, so a quieter more chill location. Staff was all very friendly. Room was freshly remodeled (although I would not say the highest craftsmanship). Beach was beautiful and right outside the door. Nice big hot tub and outdoor sitting area. Cons: Restaurant was not great. Construction on site and the building next door, so there's pretty constant construction noise during the day, granted none of it is super loud or overwhelming. Wifi was spotty for our 9th floor room.

Could Have Been Better

We were placed in a room directly below construction. The power tools were so loud it seemed like they were in the room with us. We asked to be moved, we were moved three floors down in the same area which seemed unnecessary since the hotel was clearly not even at half capacity. The shower in the new room was so hot we could barely get into it, the water in the former room would never get warm. Moving rooms in the middle of your stay is a huge inconvenience so we just worked with it. The walls are very thin, if you like it quiet, this is not the place for you. Nicely located on the beach, the pool and hot tub were great. The staff was overall friendly. Natasha, our server for breakfast was delightful.

The room and property were wonderful. The bar is super overpriced. Didn’t eat at the restaurant it was overpriced as well, that also includes the bar area. The staff recommended going next store to the bamboo tiki bar, which had excellent service, food and atmosphere. I would recommend they do something about the food and drink prices. We ordered one drink no alcohol to speak of and $16.00 each

I liked that they were renovating the rooms, and the room we had this year was nicer that the room we had during our stay last year. The amenities were good, the pool and area around the pool was nice, and easy access to the beach as well.

Unfortunately I get to write a not so stellar review. Maybe things will improve in the future but we were not impressed. The doorknob to our “beachfront” balcony malfunctioned while I was outside 9 stories up without shoes on or a phone to call for help! My wife finally saw that I was in distress but the door would not open. The hotel had to send maintenance up and completely change out the doorknob and locks. No manager or customer service rep offered an apology of any kind. I think OSHA would love to get a call about this. The only way we would ever step foot on their property again is if they comped a room for a week. I paid over $1600 to hear construction, loud hallways, and get locked out on the balcony. The shower was the best part. Except for the fact that there is no way to keep the water from getting all over the floor because of the design of the shower itself. Other than that, ok.

Hotel and resort were great! Staff on top of everything. Only thing was we booked a King bed room and got 2 double beds instead. Staff on phone said we didn’t book directly with them and used a 3rd party so that is why we didn’t get King bed even though we booked 3 months in advance. Our room was fine just want people to be aware. We didn’t know until a few days before our stay.
