The hotel is kept well, the rooms are not cleaned properly. We had a dirty sheets. The mini bar was not replenished daily we had to keep reminding them. The service at the buffet both daytime and evening were horrible. On one occasion we just got up and left because no one was coming to our table with water and eating utensils. I’m never going back to this resort. Staff is extremely rude. This is my 6 time in DR and it has been the worst. The food was also mediocre.

I wanted to give a big shout out to one of the few staff members that was absolutely excellent Carlos Enrique he was such an amazing host and whenever I needed the smallest thing he was already working on it. A lot of the hotel staff were not so friendly and they didn’t try to be helpful or even nice towards their guest. The employees in the coffee shop were the only people that were always respectful and extremely polite. Carlos our guest experience specialist was amazing and like I said before always on top of everything if you have the chance to pick a experience specialist I would recommend to ask for him. When I didn’t have a poster to make sure the hotel staff cleaned our room he was the first to rush over and make sure our room had one, One night I didn’t make any reservations and he made sure to find me a spot in one of the restaurants. He also checked up everyday to make sure we had a place to eat and that we had excursions. He made sure to ask if we needed anything. This was such a breath of fresh air considering the rest of the staff was plainly rude. They definitely need to manage their staff better.

La propiedad está bonita me gustó mucho porque es parecido a un bulevar con tiendas y restaurantes pero las habitaciones tenían olor a humedad y se ven viejas la puerta del closet no habría porque chocaba con la rejilla del techo tampoco estoy de acuerdo que ellos no sean responsables por sus empleados ya que decía que ellos no se responsabilizan por la pérdida de los artículos de sus turistas la verdad primera vez que me pasa esto hubo una persona el señor Carlos Enrique que nos atendió muy bien fue amable y siempre que me comunicaba con él me ayudaba con lo que necesitábamos al final fue una estancia agradable a pesar de los contratiempos pienso deberían tener mucho más dinámica y actividades

Ocean El Faro was the destination we landed on after exploring Punt Cana destinations. It was the best value option for our family of 4. By far, the best part of the experience was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They were checking on us regularly to see how the stay was and if we needed anything. Anything we needed, they made it happen. And had it not been for our Butler, we wouldn’t have gained access to some of the restaurants as the online reservation system they use is challenging and returned regular errors when trying to book dinner reservations. Overall, the resort is very well kept, staff was friendly and attentive and there are multiple options for food and activities. There was also a mix of places to set up/reserve for the day whether you wanted to be in the main pool area with music and the party, semi-isolated at the lazy river or more secluded relaxation under a thatch umbrella on the beach. Spots are available if you get there early enough. And everything was safe and we never felt like our things would disappear (within reason) if we took time to swim. Challenges I would note are getting a detailed understanding of when dinner reservations open on the resorts online system. We were told 8 am, but every day the main Steakhouse was already fully booked at 8 am and often it was already booked by 6 am. We still have no idea when reservations actually opened. For swimming, the lazy river stayed the coldest and most refreshing.

I want to first mention the positives, our concierge Carlos did his very best to make the best of a bad situation. I also want to shout out Justina and Jhon the bartenders we dealt with all week that were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Those positives unfortunately are far outweighed by the negatives. It started with reception. We were checking in a day late due to our flight being cancelled. The front desk clerk was very rude and somewhat incompetent. He immediately attempted to upsell us an additional 1200 dollars for access to more pools and bars. They originally had our children in a separate building when we had requested rooms next to each other two months prior to our stay. He said all requests were based on availability. The rooms we very musty and damp. The cleaning staff comes at very odd times throughout the day and night. We had them open our door one night at 9:30pm to see if we needed towels. The only restaurant with good food was hibatchi grill. All the others were barely edible. If you find yourself invited to an exclusive Expedia dinner do yourself a favor and don’t go! The food is horrible and the service is worse. They badger you for a good Expedia rating and when you don’t tell them what they want to hear they basically stop waiting on you. The beach is nothing like the pictures! The water is nasty brown and filled with seaweed! I would avoid this place!

Carlos (concierge) , Domingo (bar) & the Crew made Our Trip Unforgettable!!! Concierge Carlos was very accommodating —helped with everything from dinner reservations to finding care for my daughters when they got sick, and was available 24/7. Domingo at the bar was the bomb—great drinks and energy. The entertainment was top-notch and professional. I felt very safe the entire time and well taken care of. Would go back!!
