One of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana is dishonest, disorganized, and does not care about guests. I booked through Expedia based on an offer advertising a daily spa credit. This turned out to be false. It was not a credit, only a discount, and the hotel refused to honor what was advertised or offer any resolution.
At check-in, despite booking a king-size bed with a sleeper sofa, we were told we had a double-bed room. Staff acted surprised and tried to push a worse room. After arguing, we got a king bed, but the attempted downgrade was obvious. We were then assigned a “concierge” who promised VIP perks and excursions, only to lure us into a pushy sales pitch for a paid VIP program. Total scam and waste of vacation time.
The room was unacceptable. It was not ready, the sleeper sofa had no sheets for hours, the safe didn’t work, and there was no hot water for two days. Calls for help went nowhere, and we were even hung up on. and room service didn’t show up for two days. No manager was available, and the only solution offered was moving us far from all amenities.
Staff were rude and dismissive. Basic questions required going to multiple desks, each saying it wasn’t their job. The resort is massive, inconvenient, coffee is terrible, transportation is slow, and even the main pool was ruined by burger truck fumes. No refund, no credit, no apology. I will never return and strongly warn others to avoid this resort
