Hotel describes itself as 5 star, but more realistically it should be high end 3 star. It’s all a little dated with lots of maintenance issues outstanding, for instance, many public area toilets without locks, damaged pathways, poorly kept mini golf, poor quality bath towels, poor mosquito controls (complex us built on reclaimed mangrove area) and many rooms have poor views. The bar service varies, with US dollar tippers getting the best service, even though tips are supposedly included. Communication with the hotel via email was poor, with requests being ignored.

I was a bit disappointed because I paid for an All Inclusive but it really wasn't. I was charged for room service, if you are platinum you get better Wi-Fi, I had to purchase a Platinum Wi-Fi plan to be able to use my cellphone because the signal was no good.Eventhough I paid for an All Inclusive I was only allowed to dine at 5 of many restaurants which I had to make a reservation and I couldn't make a reservation until my last night in the resort.This should of been specified when making the reservation, you become a platinum member if you stay for a minimum of 4 days, I wish I would of known that I could buy the upgrade to platinum but I was never told I could until a very nice gentleman told me at checkout. The resort itself was great, the beach was very relaxing, the staff is great but some of them can really remind you that you aren't a platinum member, one look at your bracelet and based on that you can clearly see the different treatment.If you're Dominican or they see that you just might speak Spanish the treatment is also different. But not every staff is that way just some, and housekeeping early in the morning talk very loud while cleaning other guestrooms.My stay was good but it could of been better for sure, it didn't really feel like an All Inclusive stay for me. in been something that cpuld of been explaine

I would give this 3.75 out of 5. The property was gorgeous and very well kept. You could see a lot of local wildlife including peacocks, ducks, flamingoes and iguanas on site. It has plenty of bars for access to drinks and 3 separate pools, one catering to kids with a small water park and being located outside of the kids club. It is also located right on the beach which is also kept clean and offers several free loungers with umbrellas. They offer multiple al a carte restaurants that are open for dinner with reservations and a decent buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Unfortunately, we did run into a few cons. The free wifi is awful and only consistently worked in the front lobby. This was also a pain because you needed internet access to make reservations at the restaurants. When we were able to make reservations most restaurants were booked and the ones available only had 9pm spots available. (One night they did call to see if we wanted to come earlier to one of our reservations). The vendors and excursion solicitations are the worst we've ever experienced. People would come up to guests relaxing at the pool to solicit. We found ourselves trying to find routes to avoid solicitors. Lastly, the gym is very small but very utilized. We tried to go every morning and it was cramped with 10 people. Luckily, the property is quite large so we were able to just walk around to get in some exercise but this also made us open to more soliciting.

The property was beautiful. The grounds were well kept. The walking path from the lobby to residence was a highlight with animals in their natural habitat like turtles, iguanas and birds. The beach area was large and open and after walking the beach was in my opinion the best. We had a very basic room and a terrible view but I would recommend paying extra for ome facing the ocean or property. Toilet didn’t flush that well was my only complaint. There was always fresh towels everyday. I have celiac and I had to navigate the food by myself. The buffet has one very small gluten free area (bread and cookies). The main food was not labelled with allergens and staff were not informed so left me with grilled chicken, rice potatoes mainly. Breakfast was the best (bring your own gluten free bagels etc). The chef at japanese restaurant was the only one that took my letter stated I was celiac the most serious and was the most informed. I would recommend this resort!

My room had no internet, no hot water, I called front desk 5 different times and at all times they said someone was on the way, but no one ever arrived. Some staff were great at buffet and child care ( Alexandra and Juana were amazing). However I would never again stay at this resort. Food was terrible, especially in the “new sport bar”, waste of money!

Chair hoggs

Only real complaint, beach chairs are being hogged all day by people who arent even near by or on beach. Setting towels on chairs first thing in the morning then going about their days without spending much time on the chairs at all. Room also would get a musky stink and sewer smells every afternoon.
