The grounds and outside building were beautiful. The staff was amazing. Dislikes were. Room was out dated window was caulked shut. No fan in bath bed squeaked and room was small. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The iconic outdoor heated pool is why we go, and Virginia keeps it sparkling! We love walking the trails in the woods and down to the beach. The buffet breakfast is good and plentiful.

My first stay but not last .Do not usually complain but suite 36 located in basement was a long distant.. views of lg flat roof and parking lot..and constant water flushing from upper pipes at all hours at $600 for two nites I would expect a bit better like upper floors and garden view.. but will book better next time

Beautiful grounds. Older building that is still being kept up well. Great service at the restaurant. Room was not quiet, could hear everything happening in the hallway, doors slamming, and live music from main floor due to large open staircase. This didn’t prevent me from sleeping but I am used to quiet so was hypersensitive to it.

A very clean, quiet and quaint. Absolutely loved the character and history of the resort. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Staff were very nice and helpful. We didn’t get to check everything out due to rainy weather so we are looking forward to another stay with good weather.

A beautiful historic property and nice furniture in common areas. The room we had was small and only had one chair. The bed was too high to easily sit on for a senior. If I went again I would book a queen room with a pull out couch.

The resort is very impressive outside…well manicured grounds…lovely areas to sit on patio and lounge around the heated outdoor pool. The first level boasts many areas to relax by the fireplace or to take in the views of the basin. The dining room also nice. I nice breakfast was served…sit down style. The staff friendly and accommodating when the first room I was given had issues.
