The first room we were shown was barely adequate, but the room we actually stayed in was a pleasant surprise: clean, comfortable bed and clean carpet and bathroom. Sadly, the outside gives off the impression of neglect. Parking lot has weeds poking up through the pavement, the outside of the building needs a paint job. The lobby furniture and hallway carpets are not clean to a standard I am used to.

The front desk allowed me to park my Can Am Spyder right at the front door under cover. The pool was cool but the hot tub was hot, just what my bones and muscles needed at the end of the day. Stayed here before and will stay here again.

Pool is in rough shape, bed was comfortable but the wall at the window was dirty air conditioning made alot of noise was so hot in Alberni had to have it on . No regular coffee I asked at desk was told they don't have any. We use to stay there all the time new owners no restaurant no pub place has gone down hill big time. We will not be staying there again

Bare-bones hotel

We stayed 3 nights for an out-of-province family wedding. When we arrived (late - around 8:45 pm), we were assigned a room on the second floor. There is no elevator, so, exhausted, and with several bags, we carried them by hand up the stairs. The staff member working the desk did not offer to help. On arriving in our room, we found there was no available plug on one side of the bed - a problem, since my partner uses a CPAP machine. He went down to the desk again to ask for an extension cord, but the hotel did not have one available. Fortunately, an in-town family member came to the rescue. We then decided to have a drink in our room. The ice machine on the second floor is broken, so it was back down to the first floor, or pay an arm and a leg ($2 at the desk- cash only) for a can of pop. The next morning, we awoke to find minimal supplies for coffee: only one sachet of regular, a couple stir sticks and decaf packets, tea, and sugar. I did not notice any creamer, but I hate artificial creamers, so I would not have used it anyway. The following day, as we were getting ready for the morning, my partner went to use the iron, only to find it scorched and covered in what appeared to be melted plastic. Fortunately, housekeeping was quick to bring a new iron, despite originally bringing an ironing board cover. The only good things I have to say about the hotel is that the rooms were satisfactorily clean. I did notice heavy perfume in the room, which could be a cover up.

Disappointed ☹️

The facility looked run down. The pool wasn’t maintained properly. The attendant was more interested in his phone than checking the cleanliness or chlorine levels of the pool. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone got sick. A big disappointment. The picture of the hotel is deceptive.
