Attractions and Hotels Near Izu Oshima

If you're a proud carrier of the wanderlust gene (well duh, you're here right?), then you won't want to miss out on seeing the wider Tokyo region. Old towns are a few popular sights that should be on your hit list. If gorgeous landscapes are more your thing, visit the area's rivers. More active types can also have a crack at popular regional pursuits like hiking, cycling and shore fishing.

Everyone knows Aussies are pretty relaxed, so consider chilling out a little longer and going to the Antique Jewelry Museum and the Izu Teddy Bear Museum in Higashiizu, 35 kilometres to the west of Izu Oshima. If you want to visit Higashiizu, consider the rates at the Isaribi and Kissho CAREN. Or, you could stay in Ito, 35 kilometres to the northwest of Izu Oshima, where you'll find the Kazeno Kaori and Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen - Hostel. While in Ito, set aside a little time to check out the Kawana Hotel Golf Course and Kadowaki Bridge.

The Nishimura Kyotaro Museum, the Kabocha Museum and the Fukusenji Temple are just some of the sweet attractions in Atami. This regional centre is 50 kilometres northwest of Izu Oshima and has a population of 41,000. Why not also stop and explore Izusan Jinja Shrine and Atami Castle? If you're keen to stay in Atami, have a squiz at the current deals at the Furuya Ryokan and Resorpia Atami.

Both are pretty close to Haneda Airport, which is only 95 kilometres from Izu Oshima's centre.
