I’ve stayed here quite a few times but this time was disappointing. Towels were covered in long hair. Hot water ran out quickly, bed uncomfortable, freezer didn’t freeze a bottle of water in two days, kitchenette was much smaller and quite useless compared to the larger rooms. Would I stay here again? Maybe for convenience but twizel is only a few minutes away.

We enjoyed our stay at Ahuriri Motels. We just stayed one night here on our travels around NZ. Check in and out was easy. The room was cosy and easy to heat, which was good as it had been very cool that day. A nice touch was the fresh milk that was provided when you arrived.

This place is great for a couple of nights if you’re visiting the nearby attractions such as Aoraki/Mt Cook. The facility is older and maybe due for a renovation. However, it still offers a good value. You can park the car right infront of your room. They gave us fresh milk to have with coffee, which was a nice touch! Restaurant options are not great in that small community. Overall, it was a good night stay for us after hiking in the Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park.

Ahuriri Motels vastly exceeded by expectations. Great property with an interesting story. The cabin was much nice and larger than the photos already suggested. I could move in! Very comfortable and a great location. Loved the stay.
