Very clean, amazing staff and a great feed at the restaurant. There's also the bonus of no pokies. The underground is awesome for a night cap. Definitely will stay there again !
Darren was a wonderful help during our stay. Sorted a table for dinner in the Basement night club and really looked after us. Stayed for a bit of the performance by Fish Fry and had a nice night. Lovely old hotel and only wish the wall could talk.
Great loacation. Accommodation above two gorgeous levels of bars. Clean, tidy and have everything you need for over night stay. Cute balcony with the room. Staff were very professional and gave lots of recommendations for the Grand food and drinks.

Excellent location centre of town , very good restaurant good quick service
Loved the jazz music in the basement bar and the relative quiet in this part of town.
Friendly staff and clean, spacious room, with balcony.
I also liked having a bar fridge.
The only thing I would change is the size of the bed pillows. Like many hotels, they were too high. We like lower pillows. Offer 2 that are higher and 2 that are lower, for choice.
This is a wonderful heritage hotel! The rooms are so spacious and well furnished and comfortable … we were only there for one night but wish we could have enjoyed the space for longer.

The Grand has lots of charm but needs some upkeep. Newly renovated rooms are spacious but also need maintenance for basic things like railings in the bathroom, lights and power points. Didn't use the in-room tea/coffee because the kettle was a tad gross. Had a good stay but would have been great with a few basic things looked after. Room attendants were always helpful and smiling. Bars were okay. The beach, wharf, lots of nice cafes and restaurants and other bars are all within an easy walk.
There was hair on toilet seat and toilet was not clean also blood was on door frame next to door handle and wine glass in fridge had lipstick marks on it
Fantastic small, traditional style hotel and pub. Room was compact but very functional and well designed (room 16).
Check in was quick and easy and the location is great for walking around. Will stay again!

Room 15: Beautifully renovated ‘old world charm’ feel about the room, top floor ocean breeze & city views, walking distance to good food & coffee. Great staff & hearty meals in the bistro.
Great location. Room with no windows nor air condition. Front desk service is very poor.

The Grand is a great pub. Some of the rooms are excellent with old-world charm, and veranda access on the first floor. The bar is excellent. My room this time (I’ve stayed several times) was small, no veranda and tiny windows opening onto a brick wall, down pipes and droning pigeons.
