I found a bed bug in my bathroom and they moved me twice. The manager was nice he tried to give me 20% off of a future stay. But I settled for a late check out. I’ll never stay here again.

Room was neglected, there was no soap, room had a weird smell, only one sleeping pillow on king sized bed, and smelled of someone else’s body odor. There was an intense smell of marijuana on my floor that drifted into my room. I left the hotel and did not stay my second night.

I stay at this hotel at least 5/6 times a year (3/4 nights each time) it’s centrally located in Newark and it’s decent value for money. However the last 2 times I’ve stayed both stays were spoiled by extremely noisy guests. This time 2 of the four nights I stayed I was kept awake until 2am by a group of young men next room who were extremely loud. The hotel sent security up twice the first night but the next night it was the same issue. There seems to be a lot of permanent guests at the hotel now also. Still not a bad hotel but the standards are slipping as of late. There is one lady at reception who is extremely kind and always lovely to deal with. I wish I remembered her name.

I stayed at the Robert Treat Hotel for two nights and it was a terrible experience. When we returned to our room around 6:30 pm after being out all day, our key did not work. The parking attendant was rude and unhelpful. The desk clerk told me I had to pay for an extra night even though I had my Expedia confirmation printed and on my phone and it took him 10 to 15 minutes to find my reservation. When we finally got upstairs I noticed someone had been in our room while we were gone. The Do Not Disturb sign had been on the door when we left but was removed when we came back. Nothing valuable was taken but my clothes, a memorial t-shirt, and toiletries had been handled. The room had not been serviced at all. The bed was unmade, towels and washcloths were missing, and we had to bring our own blankets because the ones provided were stained. The chair was stained and uncomfortable and the desk does not work with a wireless mouse. The bed was very soft and sank when you sat or lay down. The hotel smells of weed and cigarettes, the walls are paper thin, and the ceilings are peeling. Parking is 24 dollars, the lot is small and tight, and there are not many spaces. I am a Newark native and both my husband and I graduated and attended various events held here throughout our lives from childhood. For someone to enter our room while we were out is outrageous. I will never stay here again..

They let the guests smoke in the rooms. I was so upset; I spoke with the front desk, and they gave me a can of air freshener. They act like they didn't know where it was coming from. I changed because the first room was worse than the second; the smoke was coming from the bathroom vents. I am allergic so no more staying here for me if I could get a refund I would especially if you don't fall in the category of a smoker.
