The room had a lovely view on the 7th floor and the various amenities in the room - the great snacks, the soft lighting - were very nice. I had thought I reserved a dual queen room but the food out sofa bed was comfortable. The housekeeping staff was very responsive as were all the staff. We would definitely stay again!

This is a nice hotel, but certainly at no way, a 5-star place. The room is OKish, very clean, but poor furniture. Part of the wall paint was bubbly and came off in room 601. The rooms have the most ridiculous door design for the bathroom - a sliding door that does not close. Hence zero sound proof, zero privacy. The rooms are 0 sound isolated towards the floor hallway and you hear every step and door shut and open 24/7. The lobby and elevators as well as gyn were not super clean. Gum was dusty and poorly cleaned floors. The staff was unable to provide an Iphone charging cable for free - unheard of in a 5-star hotel. Front desk staff was uninspired and not attentive, at night (10pm) front desk was unattended entirely. Bellboy was very good and on point. Stood out among staff. Will certainly not book or stay again at the Gansevoort. Overpriced, not at all worthy of 5-stars. Rather 3- stars given all of the above.

Stayed 12/20/25-12/22/25. I loved the location. Away from the craziness (crowd and traffic) but walking distance to other neighborhoods with lot of choices of restaurants. It is also 5 minutes walking distance to Chelsea Market. Staff was very attentive.

The room was very nice and larger than expected; however, housekeeping began knocking on our door at 9:30am on the day of our checkout so they could stay cleaning the room. Despite us clearly explaining to the housekeeper that we would be there until noon (which is the standard check out time), she knocked four additional times between 10am and 11:40am.

Always a pleasure staying at this boutique hotel. It’s in the perfect location near Chelsea market in the meat packing district. You can even walk downtown from here. This is where I will stay everytime I go to NYC.

Unacceptable Hospitality I stay at hotels often and have never been treated this poorly. At the bar at the Gansevoort Meatpacking, the Food & Beverage Manager, saw me enter, had me wait approximately 10 minutes, then canceled my drink order and abruptly said the bar was closed. The interaction was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Hospitality and amenities are the reason guests choose a hotel, and this experience failed on every level. As a paying guest, I felt unwelcome and disrespected. Based on this experience, I would never stay here again and strongly advise others who value service to look elsewhere. a star-rating recommendation, I can do that
