The beach was beautiful. The facility was clean. Staff was amazing. However, do not lose your wrist band, you will not receive another unless you are willing to pay $250usd. I went to Dunn's River Falls, and my band somehow got lost. I had a day and a half left at the resort but they were still insisting that I pay for another. I did not, but if security sees you without it, you will have some explaining to do.

I had to kill roaches in my hotel room 4 out of 5 days I stayed at this hotel. I went and spoke to management about the pest problem. They sent someone that applied a gel. Roaches are even in the hallways. The food is fantastic though. The towel employees are horrible. I’m washing all of my clothes and vacuuming my luggage in case any roaches made it into my luggage. Disgusting. I was a Riu class member. In fact, I stayed in Punta Cana 2x, Chicago, and Mexico in the last year. It’s a wrap for me and mine. Never again.

Outdated. We chise this location based on reciews. We travel regularly, but this is a lower grade and much older Riu. Too many children running around and over the food. Stick with Aquarelle location. Shower glass has soap scum get a brilo or scouring pad to remove that! No room service! Balcony area very tiny. Food not the best.

The staff was horrible. Not friendly, not accommodating at all. Room had a shower curtain as a divider. Spiders in the bed. The tv didn’t work. Food was horrible. Emailed the wrong info about themed parties. Towels had a foul smell. I had to change my room. It was just not up to par.

The experience at RIU Ochos Rios was great, my kids had a blast with the exception of the room bathroom. Unfortunately, the toilet failed operation two days in a row which was a major inconvenience for my family. At a point having to leave my room at 4:00am with my children to use the facility bathroom on the main floor. I would and have recommended this hotel. However, on my return I do hope I don’t have this experience again.

The Riu is a really nice, hotel. I liked it but the rooms were not in the same area in which I requested 2mos prior to checking in. I asked for extra blanket and pillows because we had an extra guest, they upgraded our room to allow for the guest at $918 which was absurb and they never brought the extra linen and blanket

This was my first time staying at a RIU hotel, it would not be my last. This is an amazing resort, I enjoyed every minute of my stay there. I was there for my birthday, I had dinner at one of the specialty restaurants, I was not disappointed. I was also recognized on my birthday, which was wonderful.

Nice, clean, lots of amenities, almost all staff were friendly, cleaning staff, front desk, etc. The resort was clean. The bartenders were usually irritated, slightly annoyed, even a little condescending. Other than that had a great stay.
