The hotel is situated in an ideal location, surrounded by similar accommodations on Ocean Drive and directly across the street from the beach. There are numerous stores and dining options in the vicinity. The Lincoln Rd Mall is just an 8-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, although somewhat small. A large mirror on the wall gives the illusion of added space. However, the bathroom is quite cramped, with the toilet positioned directly next to the door. I also wish the room included a microwave and a dresser.

The beachfront view was well worth the upgrade! The staff was extremely helpful. We were able to store our luggage until our room was ready and they made our room available hours before the check in time. The location is amazing, and the hotel well maintained, and stylish.

Art Deco. Great location. Loud area but the window AC unit helped to white noise and did not notice it at night. Friendly staff for check in. No issues.

Great little hotel in great location

The Penguin was exactly what we needed. Whatever amenities were not available there (e.g., pool, bar, breakfast) were in the adjoining partner hotel(s). They were generous with beach towels and extremely friendly overall. We also got lucky with a beautiful sunlight corner room with a great view of the ocean--felt like a boat. The one suggestion I would make for next time would be to offer coffee in the rooms (or in early morning in the lobby). We are early risers + wanted to get out and walk around sunrise and (since coffee wasn't available anywhere until 7:30 or 8) wound up going to Walgreens the night before to get some iced coffee for the morning. Would also be nice for folks who have to leave for early flights. That said, though, the breakfast was hot and way better than it had to be--and again, everyone was lovely, as was the location. Would for sure go back.

Was very good. Small rooms but the staff friendly and helpful. Only downside was that in the room, although there are blackout curtains, the bathroom has a window and the bathroom door has a frosted glass window... therefore we had light from a light outside coming in to room all night and then daylight in the am.

Staff was great but they don’t allow u to stay an hour longer then the time you need to check out. Small rooms and outdated. Especially if you have kids that one hour is needed. Overall hotel is decent.
