I arrived 15 minutes after check in was available. After proceeding to the check in counter, I was told my room (previously booked months before) was given away. I payed extra to have a balcony, high floor, ocean view and queen bed. I was left with no balcony, partial ocean, and promised a “high floor” which we were given floor 12 out of 36 floors. I was then told that I “might” be able to have a refund. Yes those are additional amenities to the room, but I still payed an additional amount. Why was my room that I booked months ahead given away to someone else in the first place? The prepaid room deposit upon arrival was $500 for 2 nights which I also find quite ridiculous, on top of parking being over $100 for 2 nights. Outside of that, my stay was enjoyable. The hotel is beautiful, room was spotless, outside pool area was fun

Arrived earlier than check In time (with a planned weekend of 2 nights). The suite took over 3 hours to clean. Nothing to speed up a waiting customers room. Due to these poorer than expected accommodations, in an expensive room, I will not stay at the diplomat again.

My family and I stayed at this hotel and our experience was terrible with the customer service, we were at the pool and we ordered a drink that was never brought to us and then we had to go out and find someone else and explain that we didn't get our drinks so they wouldn't charge it to the room, we decided to go eat at the beach restaurant and the service was terrible we had to find the waiter to serve us! The worst thing that happened to us was that my sister has a mobility disability, we took her into the pool trusting that the electric chair would be available to get her out of the pool and it wasn't!!!! The chair had no battery, we looked for an employee to help us, they brought another battery and it didn't work either, anyway my family and I had to get her out of the pool with great difficulty, I think this is unacceptable for a hotel of that category and worse of all is that it doesn't have everything necessary for a person with a mobility disability. We never received even an apology from the hotel!

At the end of my stay I would like to say that we had so much fun and my family enjoyed their time as well. Also, wanted to thank Mr. Mado who helped us a lot during the check in process as the initial room was in 6 floor just on top of the AC units and was very loud, honestly I was that close to cancel my entire stay until he came and talk to me and helped us to get another room with upgrade. He was kind, patient and helpful. Overall my experience is great and definitely will come back again..
