Hotel/Prime location

After visiting the property, I remember staying here back in the late 2000's. Check in was a breeze and my room was at the sister hotel next door. Room was very spacious, for storage, full length mirror, view of the ground level pool and a large bathroom full walk-in shower. Alessandra assisted us throughout the visit and as with the other staff, were all very pleasant. The food options were great and the rooftop pool/bar was a nice relaxing escape. The last night I was there, unfortunately a huge cockroach was running in the room and I could not get it fast enough. I wound up staying up the rest of the night and was a bit disappointing when I mentioned to the front desk, and nothing was done upon checkout to make the situation better. I may consider going back again, but it wouldn't be at the hotel next door to Catalina (in Maxine's).

I didn’t like the fact that the property did not provide us with wash cloths, they only provided us with bath towels and when I asked for wash cloths, the housekeeper couldn’t understand what I was asking for. Our room was inside the restaurant Maxie or Moxie, I had to go to the Catalina reception desk and ask for wash cloths because the room we stayed in did not have a phone. The reception gave me 2 wash cloths (not in a bag or some sort of covering) and I had to walk from that building to the one I was staying in with the wash clothes exposed, unbelievable!

Good location.

Arrived to find the keycard maker broken. Each time had to walk to desk to then have some one meet us at our room to let us in. This went on for a full 24 hours. Very inconvenient. The whole hotel kept a deodorizer running 24 /7. Very strong scent. Really bothered our lungs and had wheezing from it. If you have Asthma, avoid this hotel. Huge gap under door in room. Chased and killed a large cockroach in our room. Luke warm water and not hot water. On the plus side- the staff was nice enough. Good location.

While the quality of the food was great, the attentiveness of the staff was severely lacking. Our waiter didn't check on us at breakfast and I had to wave him down to get his attention even though it wasn't busy. We ordered a Maxies burger for dinner and it wasn't as described on the menu. While it had the bacon and cheese, it was missing the carmalized onions, Maxie sauce, and the pickles. Instead we got tomato that wasn't even on the menu. Also, only order pizza if you REALLY like cheese because that's mostly what you'll get.

It was 1 block away from Miami Beach. Restaurant's were close by and were good. We felt safe there and we walked the Street's. The Staff was accommodating and helpful. But the property is dated.

entire floor was under construction and I was not notified of this until I arrived. Loud drilling happening all day, dirty floors covered in sawdust and dirt, and construction workers all over the floor. Couldn’t get house keeping to clean my room for three days. Asked housekeeping for clean towels on day one and was told no I can’t give you towel. Then tried calling the front desk from my room but no one would answer. I walked down and asked for towels and was given two towels that you place on the floor after getting out of the shower. When noticed the wrong towel the front desk said she has to have housekeeping bring them. So I went back and waited for the towels that never came. I when back and had to ask for beach towel just to shower with clean towels. My room did get cleaned on the 3rd day of my trip and was given two towels and no wash cloths and small hand towels or rolls of toilet paper. Also the sheets all had yellow ish stains
