What we liked: - nice pool, great shuttle, clean room - it’s pretty/inviting - most staff are great - it’s near universal Didn’t like: - they tried to put us in an accessible room with no balcony (what I had paid for) - air conditioning is loud - service at the other side of pool bar is hit and miss - shop is poor and does not stick what you need - it’s not 4 star

Felt lile old Hollywood, not Hollyweird, as soon as you pulled in. The 70s vibe was a good break from the crazy we have in todays world. The staff was great, rooms were clean and comfy. The free shuttle to Universal City was an added $35.00 parking bonus. The food on the patio was perfect and the cocktails hit the spot. The riots were occurring just down the way and if you didn’t watch the news you would have never know. While in this little Oasis. Definitely. I will be coming back for another getaway. Next time without the kids. Lol

We hadn’t stayed at The Garland in awhile, like around 4yrs ago, but were happy to find a hotel for the UCLA graduation we attended. We don’t remember hearing the freeway all night and how loud the air conditioner is. It’s a friendly hotel, but seems to need renovations.

This is an incredible hotel! The whole place just has an incredible vibe about it. The courtyard area is beautiful and not too crowded. The Front Yard restaurant was delicious and priced well. Our room was trendy and very clean. We loved the location as it was out of the main area but within a 10-15 drive to all the main attractions we wanted to visit. The pool looked great but we didnt swim. Theres also a really cool bar that opens up to the pool and the inside lobby.

Nice hotel rooms at the back can be noise when balcony doors open as a freeway runs at the back of the hotel, good if your going to universal hotel has its own free shuttle bus runs on the hour, close to the subway to get to Hollywood bulavard, parking is $40 a day. Large supermarket 10 min walk from hotel.

We stayed for two nights in June and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Universal Studios—the shuttle service was super convenient and made getting to the park easy and stress-free. The hotel grounds were beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. We also really enjoyed the on-site restaurant—the food was delicious, and the setting was very pleasant. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only downside was the cost of parking. With taxes, it came out to over $50 per night, which felt a bit steep. Still, despite that, we would definitely consider staying here again for the convenience and overall great service.

The pool is awesome with a bar and movies at night. Such a fun vibe. The beds are comfy. There’s a restaurant and happy hour. Plenty of parking. Close to many attractions. By the freeway but quiet with doors closed. This was our second time staying where and I would stay again.
