Its a very convenient location with easy beach access. The beach itself is not swimmable as the water gets deep quickly and there are rocks at most places. However there are couple of areas where swimmers can be seen. Make sure you get rennovated rooms. We got rennovated room and it was upto mark. But anything below that would be undesirable. Swimming pools are nice. The hotel setup is little weird and parkings are tiny and hard to find, but free wins. Do find out when the cultural show at coconut market is, we had a good time watching the performance. Front desk staff is below average Lava lava was a disappointment. Poke bowl was less than 100gms of mahi mahi with hard to eat chips. Even the poke bowl from nearby coconut market was more appetizing. Salsa was pineapple, never having it again. Fried chicken and Garlic shrimp disappointed as well. The presentation and service is excellent. Location cant be beat. Yoga needs to improve. It is so exciting to be able to do yoga beach side. But the content is too light and demonstrator is not great. This is probably the only yoga studio that starts with "gratuity is appreciated". Dont malign the divine practice. If you want tips, go wait tables.

Loved the Kauai Shores. Very convenient since it’s centrally located on the island. If parking is tight, they have complementary valet. Loved the beach front access. We ate at Lava Lava one night and it was delicious. The bikes were also a plus! Wished there was better room cleaning, especially if you’re staying for over 3 or 4 nights. They still provided clean towels or anything we needed by request. We’d definitely stay again. Thanks for a great stay!

Great place to stay. Close to everything and well maintained. Only complaint was there constantly not being any pool towels available. I’d stay here again. Hopefully they figure out the towel situation.

Planning to visit again!

We loved this place! Quirky, colorful, and cute! Really liked the grassy areas, second pool, laundry room (although it was HOT in there!), photo booth, free bike rentals, and restaurant food and drinks. Best Mai Tai! My 18-year-old son said this hotel was "homey." :) String lights were cute at night. Beach isn't friendly for swimming but we were ok with that. Great toiletries in bathrooms, didn't miss anything.

I was disappointed with the beach area and parking; the bldg corridors appeared “tired” and needed some light; there was no way for our room to be lightened without being exposed in clear view of people from outside; food options were limited on site, but others within walking distance; activities did not exist for older teens and those not of drinking age; plenty of chickens and roosters on property.

Ocean view room is more like a view of the lawn and the main building with a peak of the ocean if you sit on the deck. Arrived early before 4 pm check in and it didn’t feel very accommodating for that so don’t expect an early check in. The front desk person said oh they are almost done with lunch so maybe it will get done sooner but they didn’t seem to communicate with staff about which rooms might have people waiting. I was just tired from traveling and had a recent injury, but I get the check in policy. Room has coffee maker and a fridge. AC is strong.

We were very impressed! The rooms have all been redone and are very nice. We had a kitchenette room, which was so convenient. The room had a microwave toaster and dishes. There is laundry on site for $2 a wash and $2 to dry, this is key because stuff mildews quickly in the humidity. I would say at times the room smelled a little musty, but once I realized it was the shower curtain not drying out it was remedied quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are bikes to borrow. I’d say the beach is not very swimmable and has a strong shore break - but next door at Lae Nani there’s a great beach. Overall, I was really impressed and would return!
