Extremely Disappointing – Definitely Not a 5-Star Hotel
We stayed for two nights and honestly couldn’t wait to leave. The room was tiny, uncomfortably hot, and smelled of sewage. The air conditioning was completely useless—blowing out hot air in the middle of a very hot country. To make matters worse, our window faced directly into nearby residential flats, and we actually saw someone watching us while we were getting changed. It felt intrusive, unsafe, and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5-star.
We raised these issues with reception, but the staff were rude and uninterested. Instead of trying to help, they made lazy excuses, claiming the hotel is a historical monument and nothing could be done. That’s not a valid reason for failing to provide basic comfort, privacy, or decency. A refurbishment or proper room layout is still possible—they just didn’t care.
Breakfast was also a complete disaster. The area was severely understaffed, tables left dirty, food not replenished, and flies were hovering around or even inside some of the dishes. There was no coffee available for over an hour. The food was bland, limited, and cheap—like something from a budget 2-star motel.
This hotel is all show and no substance. At best, it deserves 2 stars. Don’t waste your money—you’ve been warned.
