I had asked for a quiet room on a higher floor, but they put me in the basement facing the pool and restaurant. Location was ok, but the street is filled with restaurants and sometime taxis can not enter, so keep that in mind if you have lots of luggage.

I’m not sure how this can be considered to be a 5-star hotel. The whole place needs to be refurbished. Rooms and common areas are all extremely tired and very outdated (80’s decor), everything very worn. Tea and coffee facilities with paper cups!?! Breakfast ok but poorly set up. Difficult to move around serving counters, with staff and cleaners in the way. No servers asking what you’d like (cooked breakfast possible). My room faced what looked like a building site. Bathroom needs upgrading, dirty grout on tiles, shower head clogged up with limescale so squirting all over the place. Unsightly parts of room/bathroom covered up with picture frames or metal cover…. Usual loose toilet roll holder on wall, taps dirty and limescaled, 5 star it is not! Good location and ok pool, spa outdated and shabby though.

Extremely Disappointing – Definitely Not a 5-Star Hotel We stayed for two nights and honestly couldn’t wait to leave. The room was tiny, uncomfortably hot, and smelled of sewage. The air conditioning was completely useless—blowing out hot air in the middle of a very hot country. To make matters worse, our window faced directly into nearby residential flats, and we actually saw someone watching us while we were getting changed. It felt intrusive, unsafe, and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5-star. We raised these issues with reception, but the staff were rude and uninterested. Instead of trying to help, they made lazy excuses, claiming the hotel is a historical monument and nothing could be done. That’s not a valid reason for failing to provide basic comfort, privacy, or decency. A refurbishment or proper room layout is still possible—they just didn’t care. Breakfast was also a complete disaster. The area was severely understaffed, tables left dirty, food not replenished, and flies were hovering around or even inside some of the dishes. There was no coffee available for over an hour. The food was bland, limited, and cheap—like something from a budget 2-star motel. This hotel is all show and no substance. At best, it deserves 2 stars. Don’t waste your money—you’ve been warned.

We chose this hotel to be in the heart of the tourist area and were not disappointed. It is within an easy walk of all the main attractions in the Sultanahmet district. The hotel is very clean, welcoming and staffed by wonderful helpful people. Our room, while not large by Canadian standards, had every convenience we needed:fridge, safe, hair dryer… we did not try the tv so can’t advise on it. The free internet was more than adequate for us. The beds have medium soft foam mattress which I hugely dislike as I prefer a very firm coil spring mattress. There were no facecloths, no exhaust fan in the bathroom and fairly dim lighting there too. Leaving the mirrored door open quickly got rid of the fogged mirrors. The shower stall, there is no tub, is slippery so move carefully. The breakfast buffet is quite varied so that just about every nationality can find familiar food. Often there is a cat wandering around mooching food. A downside, which would a downside in every hotel in the area, is the amplified call to prayer that blasts out in the very early morning. It will likely awaken you.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely spot on with a very short walk to the blue mosque and square. The staff were kind, hospitable and very helpful with recommendations and booking taxis to the airport. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean - comfy beds! The pool area is a real hidden gem you almost forget you are in the centre of Istanbul. Cant wait to return!

Pas du tout satisfaite de ce séjour pour un 5 étoiles, sale et très BRUYANT, petit déjeuner pas digne d’un grand hôtel c’est la troisième fois que je viens je suis choqué le prix est cher et surtout la qualité a vraiment baissé, j’ai demandé à changer de chambre et après c’était pareil autant de bruit, les murs sont fins, je ne le recommande pas d’ailleurs j’ai écourté mon séjour et je suis partie ailleurs.

I was very disappointed for the service at the front desk,I( I wish I had the name, but her accent was very strong) people not kind at all, had to request somebody to check the heat that was not functioning, several times. I was not happy either with how clean the room was, especially the bathroom.
