Log Home is located at 10,000' elevation in the amazing St. Mary's Glacier area directly on the shoreline of Silver Lake. Surrounded by National Forest, this secluded yet very accessible getaway is the perfect place for your family vacation, family reunion, or retreat. All of this only one hour from Denver, and 35 minutes to the nearest ski area.

While relaxing on the wraparound deck enjoy the close proximity stream and waterfall which is directly outside the bedroom windows with amazing views of the lake and mountain cliffs. Outstanding fishing in our local community's privately stocked trout lakes.. Enjoy a vast network of Jeep and ATV Trails, hiking in the summer and snowshoeing, snowmobiling in the winter. These are just a few of the many activities you can enjoy in this area.

It was a nice relaxing getaway! St. Mary walking trail is literally within walking distance and a must if you have time! Kids enjoyed the lake in our literally backyard, paddle boating! We went rafting about 35 minutes from us as well!

Nice, but …

The house is lovely, has a homey feel and is well appointed — but is a work in progress. The outdoor and basement areas were unkempt with tools, tractor, building debris, etc. Many of the owners personal items were in drawers, dirty shoes and coats in the laundry room, etc. As well, there was a lot of visible dust on pictures, around the fireplace, and on the Christmas decorations still up in October. The home has a lot of large nice windows — but were all very dirty to the point that we had to personally wash the ones that look over the lake. The listing shows a view of the lake. But it only shows one side of the lake. The other side is all old dilapidated buildings - some vacant and some occupied. This was not disclosed in the listing. Most disturbing however was that there was a neighbor who would chase our cars screaming profanities as we drove up to the house. This did not feel settling at all and created a frightful environment. What we suspect is that the area is under going a transformation and will be all beautiful someday. In the meantime, please understand that this home stands out as an anomaly of the quality of homes in the area. The owner was very quick to respond to any issues we had — and so long as you understand the context for the house, you will have a nice time as we did. Idaho springs is a great area.

St. Mary’s Celebration

This rental is in the most amazing location! We celebrated my son’s graduation and had a vacation of a lifetime. We hiked St. Mary’s, white water rafted, went up Mt. Evans and spent time in Idaho Springs. The only thing that could have been better was that we didn’t know as renters we couldn’t go out on the lake with the paddle boat and canoes. Otherwise the rental was beautiful, comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. We cooked almost all our meals there.

Great Views

My buddies and I stayed here for a Bachelor party and it was the perfect location. The cabin can easily fit 8 people and the kitchen provided everything we needed to stay up in the mountains and eat without heading down to Idaho Springs. There are a lot of trails within driving distance of this spot, and you won’t be disappointed when you arrive at Silver Lake and see your destination across the lake. Excellent time. Plus we saw moose! Thanks Debbra and Bart!

Beautiful Property

Awesome location. Certainly takes a bit to get there but it was worth it. Close to St Mary’s Glacier so it was fun to hike. We had a great time on the deck with friends and saw a concert at Red Rocks. Great trip!

Beautiful area

Stayed as a group and enjoyed this cabin and the surrounding area. The cabin itself is spacious with comfortable beds and had a fully stocked kitchen. We were able to enjoy the view of the lake (which isn’t as private as pictured). There are condos directly across. I had to personally message the host for the check in, check out + wifi procedures. In the future I would recommend posting those online to make the process smoother :) some work still being done, a little messy, drawers stuffed with items and fridge filled with old food. Overall we had a truly enjoyable stay. With some slight improvements this could easily be a 5 star rental.

Amazing Cabin

We absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous cabin and lake! The wood details throughout are so detailed and gorgeous. We were pleasantly surprised with the nearly finished basement - wood burning stove, poker table, and wet bar. The best parts were the master bedroom, how close the lake was and the wraparound deck. Such a great stay with very responsive hosts!

Amazing reunion

A group of 13 women and I stayed here and had a blast hiking, enjoying the lake, and spending time on the deck. What a beautiful setting to catch up with longtime friends. Communication, check-in/out, and amenities were top-notch.

Great Mountain Retreat

I would definitely stay again at this property. The views and location on the lake outweigh its quirks. It's highly priced for the way it felt lived-in (lots of stuff left in refrigerator, laundry room junky, messy closets) and unfinished (concrete floors in bunkroom and visible construction/handiwork messes in some places). But, it overall felt clean with nice linens and such, so we were still comfortable. The patio furniture on the deck was awesome. We spent most of our time outside lounging and fishing in the lake. Thanks for sharing your property with us. Hope to be back again.

Family weekend in the mountains

This cabin was fantastic for our family to come together to celebrate birthdays and just spend time together. It's nice to be a little closer to the Denver area, so not as much traffic as some of the other areas we usually go to. Close to St. Mary's Glacier for a fun hike. There is a bit of work that needs to be done to finish up the cabin (the bunkroom is unfinished, lots of construction debris outside). We weren't sure if the canoes were available for our use and they were full of water anyway - luckily we brought our own paddleboard and was able to enjoy fishing and paddleboarding on the lake. Overall a great weekend and I would recommend!

Beautiful Cabin with Stunning Views

The cabin was very clean and beautiful. Our hosts made checking in and out as easy as possible. The view from the cabin was breathtaking. And it was a short hike to get to St. Mary's Glacier from the cabin which was fantastic. The location of the cabin couldn't have been better. We were about 20 minutes from the closest town, a short hike to a beautiful glacier, and we were right on a lake. Waking up and drinking coffee while overlooking a lake in the mountains was the highlight of our trip. I honestly didn't want to leave. I will absolutely be booking this cabin again in the future!

30th Birthday Bash!

This house was exactly what we all needed!! It comfortably fit us all and had some truly gorgeous views!! My husbands 30th birthday was everything we hoped it would be and more because of this property! The weather fluctuated like crazy and gave us the true Colorado experience, from sunshine to white out and 60mph winds, it was a new adventure every hour! Highly recommend this gorgeous home

Family reunion

This cabin location was spectacular! The views took our breath away! We went during the winter and it was like a winter wonderland! The cabin was big and clean and the kitchen had some cooking utensils. The only downside is that it only has two bathrooms one which is in the master bedroom and is in the open but I mean it really is not a problem. The owners were so nice. I have many people contacting me asking me about this place because they saw the pictures we took in it! We definitely will be back!

Perfect winter wonderland getaway

This was the PERFECT place to stay to show our Florida kid snow for the first time. It is a magical location, beautiful and serene. Spacious, cozy, and clean. Having separate bedrooms for our kids ages 9 and 18 made everything easy and comfortable. This was a bit of a splurge for our family of 4, but one we don't regret. Totally worth it.
