I am so happy with my stay at the royal grove hotel. It is so quaint and everything my girlfriend and I needed. Beach towels were always available, the entire staff was extremely helpful and personable, that definitely made our stay even more enjoyable. It’s a really safe area right near a police station and super walkable. Parking isn’t the easiest but they give you options and meters are around. I would recommend this hotel to any friend and family looking for an affordable and convenient and comfortable and clean super cute stay in the city. I mean who doesn’t wanna stay in a pink hotel!!

BED BUGS. Absolutely avoid this property. We regret giving this awful hotel a chance. First, they gave us the wrong room (we booked one with a kitchen) and the lady claimed that was Expedia’s fault for overselling. If that was the case they should have contacted us before arrival that the room was different. We had planned to cook our meals so giving us a room without kitchen absolutely does not work. Within 2 minutes of being in the hotel room, we found a BED BUG on the bed frame. If you find one there most certainly are more. The lady at the front desk refused to refund us for the night AND they didn’t have any other rooms to put us in- so we were stranded in Waikiki at 10:30 PM without a hotel. We should not have to pay for a night at a hotel that has bed bugs AND gave us the wrong room. Absolutely ridiculous. They said they would refund me once they had pest control come to confirm the bed bugs. I’ve called THREE times to get information on if they found them or not AND THEY ARENT RETURNING MY CALLS. So I will never see that refund. THERE ARE SO MANY REVIEWS WITH THE SAME SITUATION OF FINDING BED BUGS, HAVING TO PAY FOR A NIGHT, AND NEVER GETTING ANY UPDATE ON PEST CONTROL. THERE ARE SO MANY BED BUG REVIEWS SO THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT TAKING THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS. The lady at the front was quite rude on top of all this. She said I should have taken a photo of the bug since I don’t have proof of it. I offered to go back in the room with her to show her but she refused

The staff is so kind at this hotel. And the location is perfect. While this vintage, historic hotel could use a few interior updates, our room was extremely clean. It's a great choice for those of us on tighter budgets. And there are so many food choices in the vicinity too.
