We stayed in a casita with a private hot tub.. it was quiet, very clean, the bathrooms were very clean and the room was equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, a coffee maker, a little sink area -- perfect vacation stay. The grounds are very well maintained and the customer service was great.
We also had dinner one night at the Fox Bistro i think its called. The food was good, excellent service and a very attentive staff.
If you go out in the tiny town, go early everything closes 8pm or so. Its about 7 miles from Casa del Zorro. There's a few restaurants, a taco shop, a couple bar and grills. No big box stores or food places. There are a couple grocery stores, a pharmacy and liquor stores. There are no smoke shops or weed dispensaries close by, you gotta head out towards Julian or to Alpine.
All and all I recommend Casa Del Zorro.
