Excellent location with private car park (extra charge). Booked a family room described as two double beds but it was really a king bed with a convertible couch. Room was a bit tight but had a view of the castle. Room temp was comfortable and could be controlled easily. Bathroom floor wasn’t clean but the rest of the bath was. WiFi was good. Didn’t have breakfast as it was extra charge.

We had a lovely stay at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel!!! The staff were super helpful and kind. The room and view of the castle were fantastic. It was a great location, walkable to everything we wanted to see. A+ experience!

We booked two rooms and while the rooms were a good size, the beds were comfortable, and the location is great, the cleanliness was very disappointing. Both rooms were very dirty. The carpets had multiple food-type stains that looked fresh, the bathroom walls had mould, and the ceiling vent was covered in thick dust. Overall, the rooms clearly needed a deep clean. This is not the level of hygiene I would expect from any hotel, let alone a 4-star property.

The staff was very friendly and our room was lovely since we can see Edinburgh Castle, but the reason this isn't a 5 star rating is because I noticed the maids wouldn't redress our sheets and just straighten the ones we slept on. I know because I made a small spill, but noticed that same spill being on the already made sheets. You also have to request slippers instead of it already being in the room, but that is a minor issue. All in all me and my gf had a good time staying in the hotel.

Charming boutique hotel. The room was spacious with two beds larger than we expected, more full size versus single which was a very good thing. The bathroom was functional. The breakfast included in the package was high quality and a great way to begin the day.
