Apex Grassmarket is an outstanding hotel. Very nice staff that went out of there way to welcome us and make us comfortable...especially Thyna. She went above and beyond in changing our room to one with a walk in shower so I didn't have to step into a very high walled tub to shower. We had a great 4 day stay, comfortable rooms, great breakfasts and very close to the major attractions so walking everywhere was possible. A big plus is some great restaurants, pubs, shopping and a wonderful ice cream shop right across the street. We'll be back next year!!!

The hotel is perfectly located and the rooms were lovely. The check in staff person was very helpful as well as friendly. For an upscale hotel, the products in the bathroom were exceptionally meager and reminded one of staying in a Days Inn. Do better.

We had a castle view room. Not particularly pretty from the outside and a big hotel. The rooms were lovely with a fridge, kettle coffee tea biscuits etc. Clean modern bathroom. Over bath shower, personally I prefer a walk in shower but it was fine. Very comfortable bed. The staff were excellent, welcoming and helpful. The £12 breakfast was excellent value with lots of choice, buffet and a la carte. We ate once at the restaurant and the food was great. I inadvertently left something there, and when I rang, the were very helpful, sent me a link to book a pick up by Royal Mail or courier and packed it safely. Very impressed. We enjoyed our stay. The only gripe was the TVs were a bit old fashioned and we couldn’t airplay and there were no Apps on it (netflix etc)

Hotel is very well maintained and location is wonderful. Historic Grassmarket square surrounded by pubs and restaurants. Easy walk to Royal Mile. Nice courtyard and pool.

Beautiful view

We had a castle view balcony and it was amazing, worth the upgrade. Location is great. Right around the corner from Victoria Street. Hop on Hop off bus has a stop right across the street. Front desk service was very friendly. The downside was our bathroom in our room could’ve been cleaner and The bar onsite had slow service and was out of many of the things we asked for.
