Australia - New Zealand and the South Pacific Ski Resorts

The Victoria is a great place to stay in Melbourne it is clean friendly and close to shopping, theatres , restaurants and transport. It is so central.I always stay there when I’m in Melbourne .

Exceeded expectations and great value with above average breakfast buffet as well as being able to order a la carte items. Super friendly breakfast staff. No problems with cleanliness although a little confusing as to what is meant by the 'green' door notice. We hung the green notice on the door for the final 2 days - on which was described as 'tidy up/ bed making and wipe down vanity only'. However none of this actually happened at all and as far as we could tell, no one came into the room to check on things. This isn't a complaint (as we appreciated the nod to the environment and didn't want change of linen) but more a little baffling. Nevertheless we would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return. We were upgraded and had an amazing high room with a fantastic view of the river and railway yard. Being triple glazed there was no noise of the trains, although so close. A bottle of wine was included in our package but as we are tee totallers, we asked if there was an alternative non al option, but unfortunately only alcoholic drinks available. Even a voucher for a lemon lime & bitters at the bar would have been a great alternative perhaps as a suggestion for the future.

Great place as a base for Melbourne while located.

Best location, within walking distance to everything.

Room is cossy, but alot of noises were coming from neighbors and cleaningor repairman. I think the rooms where not very noise proof. Otherwise great place and I would recommend

This is one of the best hostels I stayed in Australia. I’d recommend to anyone who comes to Melbourne. The bunk beds were so comfortable and private. The washrooms were so clean. The cinema area was so so amazing. I also loved the Sunday breakfast.
