I stay at Double Tree hotels often and was suprised by the lack of customer service I received at this location. I was given false information about early check in and even received an unprofessional voicemail about my extended stay that I had set up weeks in advance. I like Double Tree and will not stop staying there, however this location should work on customer service.

Honestly for a 4 star hotel I was disappointed with the room itself. The 4 star feeling ended at the lobby for us, the room itself was very dinged up, very average. Felt like a holiday inn express room in a 4 star hotel. The staff and everyone in the hotel were generally very nice but when I asked for 2 bottled waters I had a little bit of friction to get them because apparently they only give them at check in or check out. Even though I had requested them and was told to come down by the hotel staff themselves via text. We had paid extra for “city view” which I had expected to receive a higher room in the building, we needed up with a room just directly across from another building so it didn’t feel like much of a city view. If there was no extra charge or explicit mention of city view I wouldn’t have been disappointed. Overall not bad, very average. The hotel location is good, pretty close and walkable to everything but if you think it’s directly on magnificent mile, it’s not, it’s still a bit of a walk but closer than most other properties.

Great bartenders, close to all, use Lyft/Uber!

I would say this was an above average hotel, great room size, with a partially obstructed view of the city, but with an uncomfortable bed! We didn’t use the pool. Parking was available for our weekday stay for $62/day. You do have to walk up the ramp, but I didn’t feel it was dangerous due to traffic in the ramp as others pointed out. You can unload before parking, the bell man didn’t have a friendly look and wasn’t out by the parking to ask questions of, which was disappointing. We didnt eat BF or any meals here, and the Starbucks was closed until the weekend I guess. Close to walk to several places to eat, convenience stores, easy Lyft/Uber pickup for $8-14 pretty much anywhere. We could fly and use public transport or Lyft in the future and plan to come back! We would stay at double tree again! The bartenders were great!

The room felt a little small for my wife and I, but it was clean and comfortable. The carpeting is clean, but dated. Walking distance to Michigan Ave (about 3 minutes). Good water pressure in the shower, even on the 5th floor. The parking is expensive. We paid $62 per night for a 2 night stay. The signage for the hotel parking is too small, and very difficult to see when you are driving up the street. We had to fold the mirrors in to get through the entrance.The parking stalls are EXTREMELY narrow, so I had to let my wife out of the car before I pulled in to the stall. I am disabled, so it was difficult for me to get out once i was parked. The garage is well-lit, but dirty, even though there were trash cans by the elevators. If I had to go back to Chicago, and wanted to be close for shopping, I would stay there again, but I would really spend some more time investigating other options first.
