Overall Impression: The Sol Foundation conference was worthwhile, though less engaging than expected. The venue felt cramped, and the bed was undersized and uncomfortably firm. Dining was disappointing by Italian standards—uninspired dishes, with off-tasting bacon and overly runny eggs, compounded by unaccommodating restaurant staff. Bar great ... kid in Hall ...Buzz off Highlights: The €100 massage was truly exceptional—one of the best I’ve experienced—and the pool attendant was remarkably kind and attentive. Concerns: At checkout, the hotel attempted to charge €50 for pressing a dress I never owned, which was troubling. Recommendation: A pleasant location overall, but future guests should request a room upgrade and temper expectations regarding service and dining.

Staying in paradise

It was fantastic! We had a wonderful experience. The room was great with a breathtaking view on the lake. There was plenty of space with big wardrobes. Everything new. Very quiet. The breakfast was great, accommodating a vegan diet. The personal was very friendly. And eating while overlooking the lake and enjoying the breeze on the terrace was an exceptional experience. Very neat swimming pool with plenty of space to accommodate guests. I wished we could stay longer. I would totally recommend it to everyone!

Spectacular location and view.

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Casa Berno. The pool is gorgeous, the view breathtaking and the staff friendly and attentive. We hated to leave and hope to return.

A Stay overlooking Ascona

Casa Berno is a beautiful hotel on the side of the mountain with great lake views. The hotel is very clean and well appointed. The staff does a great job of service, but their English is limited. Food was very good and well presented and prepared, even if a bit expensive for dinner. If you are driving, getting to the hotel on a narrow two way road that is only capable of one car getting through in many places is a bit of a challenge and parking is tight. We were there in mid June and it was in the mid 80 degrees Fahrenheit. That made if very warm sleeping without air conditioning. They did have electric fans available which made it bearable. Getting down to Ascona only take a short time and it, and the surrounding towns and valleys, is a wonderful place to visit.

Beautiful Location

This was our second stay at Casa Berno which has a stunning view of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains. The hotel is very comfortable and we enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the terrace which also has a nice bar.
