Good property and many food options. The specialty restaurants were only ok. Nothing special about the food. Location and room were great, our only complaint was the bed. Mid way through our stay we had to ask for a newer mattress since ours was worn out and dipped in the middle.

We booked Riu Cancun Caribe expecting a family-friendly resort based on its description, but were significantly disappointed. Our experience was far from what we anticipated, and it felt much more geared towards adults than families. Firstly, the atmosphere was overwhelmingly adult-focused. While there were some children present, the entertainment and overall vibe leaned heavily towards adult activities, which made it feel uncomfortable for our family at times. This was a stark contrast to our previous experience at Riu Peninsula, which truly catered to families. Secondly, the food quality was a major letdown. Compared to other Riu resorts we've stayed at, particularly Riu Peninsula, the food at Riu Cancun Caribe was noticeably cheap and lacked variety. The dining experience felt rushed, and the ingredients seemed of lower quality. It was like comparing a fine dining experience to a fast-food buffet. We were expecting the standard Riu quality, but what we got was far below that. Adding to our concerns, we experienced a serious health issue during our stay. Our children developed stomach worms, likely due to the questionable food hygiene. This was incredibly distressing and ruined a significant portion of our vacation. When my wife sought medical assistance through the resort's on-site doctor, we were shocked to learn that even a consultation would cost $280. This property was nicer than expected as far as looks and maintenance. The food was not very good and not many options. Service was good and I recommend to those who don’t really plan to eat on resort often.

We had a great experience at RIU Caribe in Cancun. Upon arrival, we were given the wrong room but quickly corrected it with the front desk. Everything else was excellent—clean, plenty of activities, and surprisingly good nightlife for a family-friendly resort. Drinks and breakfast were great, but lunch was disappointing—mostly low-quality fast food. The 24-hour lobby bar food was chewy and bland, so I’d recommend going for tacos or roasted chicken instead. Dinner had five options (Mexican, Asian, Steakhouse), with some hits and misses. The steakhouse had the best main dishes but lacked desserts. Some dishes at the other restaurants were hit or miss, but overall, the variety was good. The staff was amazing—attentive, helpful, and kept the resort spotless. Negative reviews about rude staff or missing items didn’t match our experience. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure a great stay. Overall, 4 stars due to food quality, but we’d still highly recommend it for the service, cleanliness, and great atmosphere!

Entertainment around the pool was terrible. Entertainment at night was awful. Other resorts we went to in Cancun had a lot of great activities around the pool during the day. Also they had fantastic shows at night: Michael Jackson, Latino bands and shows, etc. I will never come back to this resort.

One of the prettier, newer Riu resorts in Zona Hotelera. All the parties are onsite. Beach access is heavenly - the beach is beautiful. The food options are amazing, and staff at the restaurant is awesome.

My stay was nice. I requested a room that is high up (in the RIU) app, and they put me ABOVE the 9th floor. The walk way up was a spiral staircase with stairs about half the size of a normal stair. Not sure why those rooms exist, I fell going down them. Ants were also in my room, multiple ants- did not notice them until the 2nd day. The hotel itself was beautiful though, but falling down those terrible stairs and the bugs in my room caused issues for me during my stay.

The pools were great, the abundance of food options was great, the RIU Party area was absolutely amazing! The staff were always around to answer questions or make your stay more enjoyable.

We stayed at the Caribe for 5 days and loved every day of our stay. From the parties on the resort to the food it was amazing. We went to celebrate my girlfriend’s 30th birthday and the staff made sure to have flowers and a birthday display set up as I requested and it was PERFECT. Definitely coming back thank you Riu Caribe

The hotel was clean overall. I could see the staff cleaning every day. Other than that, I wish the front desk staff had been more friendly and provided information to travelers.
