Overall it was a nice property. The room we stayed in felt like a box, plain jane no extras. Did have a good mini bar. Bathroom was nice and walk in shower was nice. Grounds are well kept, food was good. Beach was real nice, pool was very nice. Would stay there again for the price

So if you’re going to party this is your hotel. The food was not my favorite. Had 1 night of no hot water but overall especially for the price this place was amazing. Extremely clean and well ran .Great drinks, good beach, entertainment extremely accessible, and very nice pool.

I prefer a smaller resort over a large one that requires lots of walking just to eat or get in the pool so this was perfect. Staff was extremely kind. Had to tell them repeatedly that I was not in going to sister resort. They could have had more premium liquors at the bar. Buffet was not bad but predictable. My 4 day/ 3 night stay only allotted me one dinner in the Á la carte restaurant which seemed odd. Entertainment was ok. Room service never came even with the service room card left on the door. I had to go to the front desk to request restock of water. A/C worked great but ceiling fan in room operates off of motion so if you have night sweats do not expect the ceiling fan to cool you unless you want to get up every 15 minutes to engage the sensor . Overall good but could've been better.

Occidental Costa was walkable and had easy access to the XCaret Ferry. We used the ferry to go to Isla Mujeres which was a magical place. The food at the property was very good from the buffet and the on-site restaurants which the latter required reservations. For the daytime there were various activities such as pool volleyball, aqua aerobics, cards, and stretching. Roger and Regina were fun activity directors. My boyfriend and I had massages at the spa which were so relaxing. We also accessed the gym which had all the necessary equpment for a good workout. All and all it was a wonderful week of vacation.
