Poorly kept and very outdated

Unfortunately with Parliament sitting there were not very many options left in Canberra. Unfortunately, I should have read deeper into the reviews but this hotel is out dated, dirty, no meal options available as restaurant closed for both breakfast and dinner. Not to mention the construction noise coming from next door. Critically, especially for a business traveller, the advertisement should be updated in regards to no dining options and a pre-warning in regards to construction noise. Unfortunately, a poor experience and would not stay here again.

Long waiting for checking in at the hotel

Other guests and I had to wait for 45 minutes to get checked in because nobody was at the reception even though we pressed the bell and called the given phone number again and again, but there was no one to pick up. It was the only one-night stay for me to stay in Canberra driving long-distance from Tasmania and this waiting time was too long and certainly exhausting.

It’s was a nice area, good parking but room was a little old and not 100% clean and bed old and had a dip in the mattress wasn’t the nicest to sleep in other then that’s room was a great size - but not very accessible for something not being about to walk up stairs etc.

The property was in an ideal location for our needs. Next door was a construction site but impact was minimal. The room(s) were of a good size but old fashioned. No smart TV and facilities were dated. Never enough tea, coffee or sugar sachets. Numerous dining options were nearby as were shopping and fuel outlets. The property just needs an update.

I thought I’d found a good deal for three nights but no. We were not advised about multi storey building being built right next door until we got into our room. A letter explaining it, with 2 bottles of water, 3 pieces of crappy fruit and ear plugs were supplied to compensate it. Who does that? We should have been advised before booking. The hotel is old and dated, that’s fine but the bed was soft and sagging, really uncomfortable. Light globes in bathroom broken. Battery in aircon remote flat. Would not recommend this hotel.
