Construction was going on above our room. No notice was given that we may experience noise. Construction began at 7am on Saturday & 7:25am Sunday morning. Jack hammers were extremely noisy and we could smell concrete dust through the vents in the bathroom. When we complained we were offered a free breakfast. A bit more consideration of guests should be a priority.

My apartment main window was facing the afternoon sun, the room cooling could not keep up with the heat and didn't get to a comfortable temp until after 10pm. I had a tradie working on the apartment next door using power tools until after 9pm and also early before 7am in the morning. I had told staff about these issues and the guy sort have shrugged and gave me the dont worry it will all be ok attitude. I have stayed here plenty of times with some of my best overall trips to canberra here, but this stay left a bad taste in my mouth. Im hoping this vibe doesn’t stick around as ive noticed a different feel about the place even my last visit of November 2025.

Location and happy hour drinks & food were the highlights. The king bed was way too soft and bouncy but the twinbed beside it was firmer. Updated main area, bathroom tub/ shower were dated but functional.

The staff were friendly & courteous on arrival. We were given a lovely room in a quiet wing which was super appreciated after a long drive from Sydney. We found the hotel bed extremely comfortable & the room clean & the amenities were plenty. Parking is onsite & free which honestly is so rare these days. My son & I walked into town for dinner & enjoyed the easy 20 minute stroll. Definitely will rebook here with the rest of the family. Such a great laid back vibe.

Old rooms and everything is old and worn. Still comfortable, just not modern. Noisy doors, have to nearly slam them them to close. Coffee & fridge area is tiny, shower in the bath with a shower curtain that doesn’t keep the water in. Very restricting for tallish people.

The room was spotless, shower was hot with plenty of water. Staff were excellent attentive and courteous, ate at the restaurant for two nights and the food was excellent. Happy hour with cheap drinks Mon-Fri 4-6 pm.

This is.a good hotel for a few day stay in Canberra. We had two nights there. They have a convenient restaurant and bar under the atrium. Parking is easy access in and out (not always the case in Canberra). The rooms are a bit dated and need more light—a stand up lamp would do wonders. Also, the bathroom needs a light above the sink. These are important respectively for reading and also for shaving, make-up, etc. But other than those two items, it’s an excellent hotel.

The Pavillon on Northbourne has a massive 1980s retro feel which means bigger rooms and spaces but also amenities My own family are fans of this place wet a few of the vending machines still cash activated! Not no issues with WiFi
