It was good they gave us free Roam bus tickets to roam around Banff and the room had a lovely leafy aspect towards the forest. However the room was quite dated and cleaning of the room could have been much better. We tried to use the oven one night but it was locked and we needed a maintenance person to unlock it!

Woman at check In was not nice, acted as though it was an inconvenience to her to check us in and help us. The girl next to her no helping us was nicer. We went back to the hotel next door to get more assistance and they were even more helpful about holding our bags even though we were no longer staying there anymore. Seems a little inconsistent. Definitely would recommend the other hotel to my friends.

Good place overall

Overall, great place to stay. The resort is a bit old, but our loft was confortable and clean. When travalling with two kids, having 2 washrooms and and a little kitchen is very helpfull. Staff was very helpfull to.

Our stay at Douglas Fir Resort was very good overall. The customer service during check-in was excellent. However, during check-out, although we were told everything was fine, we encountered a few concerns. When we asked for a receipt and the return of our deposit, we were informed that the refund would take up to 10 days. As for the receipt, we were told it would be provided through Expedia. While we understand the process, it would have been reassuring to receive a written confirmation of our check-out directly from the resort. Thanks.

Very well loved location

We really enjoyed our stay here, and appreciated the ability to cook meals in the kitchen and enjoy the view. That said, the property is pretty worn down, so don’t expect anything fancy. For the price, which was decent, it was a good deal.

Comfy but a little worn

I booked 7 months before coming. Condo looked a little worn with several items needing attention. The bed was comfy, the full kitchen welcome for reheating food. There was a safe for valuables. Many amenities were not available - like the indoor pool, laundry and grocery shop. Bus stop was super convenient and resort gave free bus passes. Finally got a fire to burn as wood seemed hard to catch.

Very noisy A/C fan

On arrival the room was hot but the A/C circulating fan couldn’t be run as the bearings were shot and the noise was far too loud. As was said in other reviews the room had been cleaned but was old and the fixtures were in need of replacement. The hotel is about 1 mile from downtown, there is a bus but the service is not that great after 20:00. Returns are every hour. You can drive, but parking is an issue in Banff.
