We stayed at this hotel for only one night. When we checked in, we intended to pay the room charge in cash, but the staff refused, saying they had no change, so we paid by credit card instead.
In addition, the staff asked us to pay a security deposit. We also asked whether the deposit could be paid in cash. The staff replied that if the deposit was made by credit card as a pre-authorization, it would be $100, but if it was paid in cash, we would have to pay $200. As a result, besides paying more than $150 by credit card for the room, we also paid $200 in cash as a securitydeposit. The next day, when we checked out, another front-desk staff member unexpectedly told us: “That 200 in cash was mistakenly used to pay the room charge of over $150, so I will return more than 40 change to you. As for the credit card payment of over $150, we will cancel it with the bank.”
I have never encountered such a chaotic arrangement before!
