I liked the warm staff. I had enormous jet lag; therefore I spent a lot of time in my room enjoying room service and the big flat screen tv. I can't say I liked the menu in the dining room when I finally emerged. I wish there was more variety. Overall, it was a most enjoyable stay😀

This is a five-star hotel in terms of design and ambiance—it’s undeniably beautiful and in a great location, with easy access to everything Amsterdam has to offer. However, there were several service-related issues that kept it from feeling like the true five-star experience it aims to provide. The biggest disappointment was housekeeping. Despite leaving our room by 9:00 AM and not returning until around 4:00 PM, our room wasn’t cleaned for two days. Eventually, I had to find the maid myself just to get fresh towels and toilet paper. She seemed frustrated by the request, which made the situation more uncomfortable. It’s possible our room's location put us late in her schedule, but at this level, that shouldn’t be an excuse. On our last day, the room was finally cleaned—perhaps to check the minibar—but by then, the impression had been made. There were also some functional issues: the bathroom door didn’t fully close, and the hotel was noisy at night due to nearby nightlife. One evening even involved a police presence outside. During the day, construction blocked the street, adding to the disruption. On a more positive note, the bartender was fantastic—he learned how to make a drink I requested and kindly got us cappuccinos after dinner. His warmth and attentiveness really stood out. Overall, the hotel presents itself as a luxurious, five-star property, and it certainly looks the part. But in several important ways, the service just didn’t live up to that standard.

We had a wonderful stay at Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam. The location is perfect. Our room had a beautiful view of the canals. The bed is very comfortable. Our room was a bit on the small side but not terrible. There is a bit of street noise especially on the weekends. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely return.

The LOCATION was pretty good as we walked to all the major attractions. Anne Frank house - 23 min, red district - 7 min, Van Gogh museum - 24 min. The ROOM was a bit small, even for a superior room with Canal View, with little room for the luggage (no rack either). There was a little hallway with a decent size closet, so we had to squeeze the luggage in there. The bed was pretty comfortable and there was no outside noise during the night. There was a coffee maker and a tiny fridge that was filled with drinks (for purchase). The BATHROOM was big and the shower was huge. It contained all of the things you needed, like a magnifying mirror, a dryer, shampoo, conditioner, etc. It was really nice and modern.

We stayed for one week at the Tivoli Doelen in Amsterdam, right on one of the canals in a very centrally-located place. Their employees were excellent, especially Sonne who checked us in and then continued to help us with recommendations throughout our visit. She truly gave us outstanding service. We were traveling with our adult daughter, so we had two rooms. They both overlooked one of the canals, which was a beautiful view. It was about a 5 minute walk to the closest Metro station and there were excellent restaurants and some shops all within walking distance. The bed was a little firm for me, but my husband and daughter were both very comfortable in it. The bathroom doesn't have a lot of counter space, but there was a shelf outside the bathroom that we used for some of our things. All together, it was the perfect location for our week-long stay in the beautiful city of Amsterdam.

Lovely property. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They upgraded our room to a canal view without asking. The rooms are quite small - barely room for your luggage. The breakfast price was exorbitant so we chose to go to the cafe next door. It was very good and very reasonable. The hotel had a complimentary “happy hour” of sorts with a complimentary glass of wine and a snack - herring it was very good. All in all a lovely stay.
