"Very good hotel - books out fast"
It was a good stay there and we would have stayed longer if there were any rooms available. Everything was booked out in Alice that weekend. They put us on the wait list if they had any cancellations. Overall everything was good but the hotel is looking a little worn.

    Hotels In Alice Springs

A true gem in the heart of Australia, Alice Springs is a terrific place to experience the incredible landscapes and diversity of the Northern Territories.

Different to many other parts of the country, you will be forgiven for thinking that you have gone on a journey to a far and distant land. Don’t miss out on a fantastic inland adventure and get yourself booked into a fab Alice Springs hotel and prepare to let the good times roll!

    History

Long before outsiders made their way to Alice Springs the area was home to the Arrernte Aboriginal group. There are many fascinating natural and cultural spots that are steeped in indigenous tales and legends. Europeans first arrived in the area in the 1860s, with many more arriving when gold was discovered nearby in the 1880s. It was an important military base during the Second World War and continued to grow and develop. Today, it is a very popular tourist destination that has influences from both Aboriginal and European cultures.

    Things to do

Partway between Adelaide and Darwin and hundreds of kilometres from the coast, although Alice Springs is pretty isolated it really does have lots of fantastic things to do and see. It really is true that some of the best things in life are free – look up to the skies and prepare to have your socks blown off! Watch a sunset to rival all others and be amazed by the sheer amount of stars twinkling in the pitch black night time skies. To experience the local history pay a visit to the cool Old Timer’s Museum, Adelaide House, and the Old Gaol, and make sure that you don’t skip a trip to the famous Flying Doctors Museum. For some amazing views head up Anzac Hill or perhaps you could even treat yourself to an exciting hot air balloon ride over the desert. There are also loads of places to see interesting outback wildlife and you can even explore the desert by camel!

    Shopping and dining

For a place that is so remote, Alice Springs does have a great array of places to eat and drink, although you’ll notice that the prices are usually a bit more than in other places due to the transportation of goods. It’s easy to pick up souvenirs and the basics.

    Getting here and around

There are some wicked deals on flights to Alice Springs from various domestic airports. The heart of the town can be enjoyed by foot, although having your own transport or joining one of the tours is usually the best way to get out and about. With your Alice Springs’ accommodation booked, you’re all sorted for a spectacular trip.
